My young daughter was treated to ice cream today at Tanner Brothers Dairy. I have shopped at this store for years however she wanted a cotton candy or bubble gum ice cream cone. Every time she gets these flavors they aren't finished and nobody else in our family likes these flavors. I suggested peach because when she didn't finish it, no waste, someone else at home would. However she was denied a small spoon to taste the flavor. Earlier in the week I tasted a flavor then changed my mind a picked out something else. I questioned the store manager who stated that yes this was a new policy, health reasons, too many spoons, trash thrown on floor. None of these reasons made any sense to me as Rita's Water Ice has purchased a small size spoon and encourage customers to try any flavor they want. They also have trash cans nearby so that nobody throws the spoons on the floor. I guess this concept is difficult for Tanner Brothers Dairy because they have been around forever and they do things the same way.
Pros: Other area farms and ice cream stores in area who care
Cons: Indifference to the needs to community
