It was my first time at Tangerine so I wasn't sure what to expect. The minute I walked in the door, I was greeted with a warm smile. Kacy, my stylist, was professional and friendly. I was impressed by all the services Tangerine offers. I may try them in future. I do know one thing, I liked the cut and am looking forward to returning. more

I love going to Tangerine Aveda because right when I walk in the door it smells amazing. The staff is very friendly and they always offer me Aveda tea which is my favorite and is very yummy. However I only visit Tangerine for one service and that is for an eye brow wax. They are a little more expensive for the wax but I won't let anyone else touch my eyebrows. So for the small service I recieve I think it is worth a little extra money. more

This is in the new mall at the end of 431 at 395. I went here and got an excellent hair cut and took home some great Aveda products. Amanda was my cutter and she listened to exactly what I wanted and did it! I have yet to get colored here or have spa services, but the other clientelle had their LV bags and giant diamonds so I assume they do a good job! more

I love the fragrance of eucalyptus/mint as soon as I walk through the door...I know that I'm in for some well deserved pampering! I've had haircuts, facials and massages at Aveda salons in both Reno and San Francisco. Tangerine Aveda is definitely my favorite! I need to make time to visit more often. more

With some regret, I have to review Tangerine. And only regrettable because I just don't want to have to share Alexa. Alexa is the best. She is solid gold, five star good. I heart Alexa. She is a premiere colorist, great stylist and delivers a foot thumping shampoo. One on my fave treats is to book an appointment for Friday after work and then be salon ready for the evening. The word is out. Treat yourself to Alexa and Tangerine Aveda! more

I've been going to Tangerine for almost a year now and I love it! After a myriad of meh to horrid haircuts in Tahoe and Reno I can 't tell you how happy I am to be stoked on my not so easy to deal with curly hair. I love my stylist, Renee, and the whole staff is very welcoming and nice. I enjoy my visits and for the first time in my life, I actually get my hair cut on a regular basis...no more waiting for my hair to become a huge unmanageable poofball! I also LOVE Aveda products now..I'm addicted. I have my husband loving it too (though he wasn't so happy at the price). Last time I was in they offered a free make-up consultation and I found yet another product I am in love with. Maybe its not the cheapest, but I find that the value is there...both for the quality of service and hair styling, but also with the products. My hair looks the best it ever has...and at about half the price I would've ended up paying when I lived in San Francisco. I won't go anywhere else as long as I stay in Reno. I think I need to explore the spa side of Tangerine next! more

Tangerine STILL receives five stars from me...... I have returned to Tangerine twice since my initial review back in January and am still tickled pink with their staff's professionalism, the quality of the work that they do (makeup, hair, facials and product knowledge) and plan to return as often as possible. more

I love this salon. I've been going to Alexa for 3 years. When money has been tight I've tried the cheaper places, but always end up going to her to 'fix' my haircut. By now you would think I would learn to trust in Aveda :) more

I went to Tangerine (an Aveda spa) as part of my search for a day-of hair & makeup place. Everyone was super-nice, and in 20 minutes, I knew that I'd found my hair place. But, almost an hour later, I knew that I hadn't found my make-up place. The dewy-shimmer look doesn't work well on anyone over 25, especially not for wedding photos. This would be minus a star, but...I also arranged to have the rest of the wedding party get their hair done the "day of". They opened two hours early for us, had some snacks (mini-muffins!) and beverages ready for us, and got everyone looking picture-perfect. And, when one of the bridesmaids bailed 15 minutes before the appointment, my brother (a groomsman) took her place. Tangerine took the change in-stride, gave him a haircut (made mom happy), and used just the right amount and type of product so that his hair didn't look like it had product. As far as my hair, Jessie did an outstanding job with my up-do, and during the big day, my hair stayed impeccable, natural looking, and in place for 16 hours (it was a long day)... even with the veil attached for six hours. And, with the fine hair that I have, this is no easy thing. more

I love this place! They have the best facials in town. I've been seeing Stephanie for over two years now, and I am always satisfied with her work. It is very clean, service is superb, they have complimentry bevrages and snacks and even though it's on the pricey side, I feel it's worth it. They also sell aveda products, and I am a big fan of their lipgloss line. more

I like getting my hair cut here. It's a stylish and energetic place. Lindy's willing to be creative, and appropriate, when I tell her I want something different but I don't know what it is. more

I went to Tangerine for a special occasion hair do before a holiday party, then around the cornor to MAC for make up. Linde was my stylist and she did an AMAZING job. She studied my face and hair for a few minutes then told me her idea which sounded good, simple and elegant, not fussy. When she was finished, I couldn't believe it. With just a little lift and bringing out a few layers to their full advantage she had found a style that really flattered my face and was perfect for a semi formal occassion. My hair hasn't looked as good before or since. I plan to go there for my next hair cut to see if that will turn out as well the styling did. more

I stumbled upon Tangerine when I first started exploring Reno. It is a wonderful salon and spa fully staffed with very knowledgeable people. I was greeted enthusiastically and given tea and snacks while I waited. My stylist, Renee Goebel, was the best stylist I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I left, not only pleased, but feeling pampered and educated. I would definitely recommend this place! more

Oooohhhh, ahhhhhhhh...honestly - the best facial I EVER had. Thank you Nicki for taking me away from my chaotic life for 90 minutes. I chose The Ultimate Face and Body Experience and is THAT THE TRUTH! It was a facial and SO much more...foot massage, scalp massage, shoulders...oh my I CAN'T wait to do it again. The facial was fabulous...the extractions were not even painful (for a chicken like me that's amazing)...and I was so relaxed I fell asleep a couple times...lol! If you want to impress that special female...book her an appointment! more

Tangerine is great! I see Kristy and she always does a beautiful job on my hair color and cut. Terra has shaped my brows a few times and they always look fantastic, and I have crazy thick brows. The salon is relaxing and earthy. Only one star shy of 5 due to a sometimes surly receptionist. Everyone else is stellar! more

The team at Tangerine Aveda are pure professionals. I have been to some of the highest-end salons in Dallas and Atlanta, and although Reno pales in comparison to those cities' offerings, Tangerine Aveda is MORE than I could ask for for a city this size. If you too are used to superior salon service, go straight to Aveda. Many of the salons here in Reno are small-town, tacky, chemically smelling, gossipy, dirty, catty, and loud. Expect to fall in love from the minute you walk in. You will be offered a glass of wine/beer (COMPLIMENTARY! HELLO!!), and get a scalp and hand massage - outside of your other services. You will pay a very fair price, some might say it's a bit on the expensive side, but not to me. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR at Tangerine Aveda. If you like to skimp on yourself and just give yourself an "average, ordinary" salon experience, then DON'T try this salon. If you believe that you are worthy of 2 solitary hours of serene, pure, indulgence all to yourself (and you do deserve it!), then this is your salon. It's mine and I could go on and on. Additionally, if you are looking for the best blonde color, a cut that is perfection, and a blowout that any Hollywood starlet would be jealous of---you should book your next appointment with Senior Stylist Jen Rushton. You will not be disappointed. more

A wonderful treat for those days when you need an escape. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They greet you upfront and offer you a beverage right off the bat. I've experienced their facials and hair treatments, both are wonderful (I'm a little biased because I love Aveda products). The staff is also helpful at suggesting ways to address problem areas such as when I first moved to Reno and my skin kept drying out - they made several recommendations and not just on their products but what I should look for in my moisturizer, etc if I chose to buy something else. I thought this was wonderful especially since I'd never had dry skin before coming from the humid Southeast. Since I know Aveda is a more expensive product and would expect their salon/spa to be the same way I wasn't surprised at the price - however if you are unsure if this is in our range, check out their website as it lists the services/treatments and their prices. I definitely think you should pamper yourself at least once here if only to have their knowledgeable staff review your skin and offer their recommendations. more
