Im a seasoned therapist for 15 years. Ive treated all ages from preschoolers to older adults. Most of my clients are seen in one to one sessions. . Im trained and experienced in a variety of skills as a psychotherapist. Relationship counselling is another area of expertise. My favorite format is working in family therapy when children and teens,are my clients.
My view of clients is one of wholeness and respect. Answers are within all of us. Mostly we stand in our own way with negative self-talk over powering our desires to change. Using Cognitive therapy we explore how we can change the negative. I also use relaxation and breathing techniques. With trauma,I can use EMDR with is approved for use by the VA and has much research to support its effectiveness. Couples counseling includes use of communication skills and most importantly,how to identify our needs and respectfully share them with our spouse.
There is no one right way to explore and change our behavior,thoughts,and emotions. Using our mind thru imagery and art can bypass that blocks of guilty thoughts that prevent us from having passion in our lives. Creativity can lead us to unknown and unrecognized confidence.
