Here ye, here ye:
Let me preface by saying that travelling to Mt. Rainier for sightseeing can work up quite an appetite. I don't recommend insisting on waiting until you reach Eatonville for dinner, just so you can make puns to your starving friends on the way. Apparently it can result in a $173.00 speeding ticket. Eatonville? More like ihatecopsonsville.
That said, I wasn't in a very good mood when we got to the first restaurant I could find post authorities, nor was I in the mindset to praise anything related to Eatonville. However, I quickly learned Tall Timber Restaurant should not be the scapegoat for my wrath, because the food and experience turned out to be surprisingly good.
For some reason I spend most of my time in Seattle looking for dive restaurants that should be found in the middle of nowhere. One of my first actual ‘in the middle of nowhere’ experiences encourages me that this is a good and productive train of thought. My turkey & bacon sourdough melt was bangin' and I had an elderly waitress named Bev who made regular use of phrases like 'here you be!" when delivering food. Walked in livid...walked out happily full and only mildly furious.
