Editorial review from Citysearch 5/28/2013

Don't trust the prices. I bought a bag of ginger candies that said 5.25 oz but was supposed to receive 7 oz for the same price. The manager did not apologize, said ""that's the way it's always been,"" blamed the vendor and simply shrugged her shoulders at me. I'll never buy from this place ever again. more

Disappoinment at Talin 5/6/2007

I've been a Talin market fan until recent when I purchased 9 avocados from them. All of them were absolutely uneatable, green and decayed at the same time. I returned them to the store expecting exchange or refund. The manager refused to do anything and tried to hand me back same bad avocodos.\r I have never been treated this way before at any other store, felt disappointed and obligated to let other Talin customers know that the store management didn't remove bad batch of avocados from their shelves. more

For the Truly Bold Gourmet. . . 6/4/2006

Talin is the only place I've ever been where I have seen real pork hearts. Or about five different types of tripe. Or chicken's feet. The meat market alone warrants at least going to this place-if you're like me and find rows of severed fish heads interesting rather than revolting. Other than that, there is simply no other place in Albuquerque where one can purchase dried shrimp, fermented shrimp, jackfruit, exotic platains, spotted dick. . .the list goes on. If you're a foodie with thrill issues, this is definately the place to be. Pros: enormous selection Cons: disorganised more

UNARRANGED OR MISSING ITEMS FROM SHELVES 3/29/2006

MOST OF THE TIME ITEMS AT BOMBAY/KOREA SEOUL SHELVES ARE LYING ON FLOOR AND NOT ARRANGED ON SHELVES OR MISING/NOT REFILLED,AVAILABLE IN ?BULK STORAGE BUT NOT ON SHELVES ,TILDA BASMATI RICE IS UNAVAILABLE MOST OF THE TIME AND ALSO FROZEN VEGETABLES,PROBABLY NEED TO INCREASE THE INCOMING STOCK. Pros: CURTIOUS STAFF, CONVENIENT LOCATION, WIDE VARIETY Cons: LACK OF INFO IN STAFF, UNREFILLED SHELVES, ITEMS LYING ON FLOOR more

Unusual policy.. 12/1/2005

The products offered by this store seem to be world class but don't expect to be allowed in the store if you don't want to have your bag or personal items checked in at the entrance. I wasn't allowed in the store, because I wouldn't submit my violin to the pile of assorted backpacks and bags lying on the floor. I would have liked to shop at Talin, but, because of this policy, I had to go elsewhere. PS. One can not leave a violin in a car as suggested by the attendant. Thank you. J Cons: Wierd policy more

Best International Grocery 8/9/2005

If you want to go to the one place that'll have seaweed strips, sesame balls, goya products, fresh fish,Asian noodles of all types, imported Italian pastas, platanos, central american seasonings, curry galore, green tea galore...that would have to be Talin. I love this place. Then when you're done, you can walk next door and get a nice sweet taro boba drink! They also have cooking classes/demos on Saturdays (sometimes). more
