I have 2 daughters (24 & 25) and one son (13); I started going to Dr. Hammar when my younger daughter was a few months old; she was so good w/my daughters and my girls liked her so much that they wanted to be doctors like her. She became my son's pediatrician too due to her caring and nurturing manner. She is warm, caring, friendly and in all the years we've been going has never rushed and or hurried us. more

Dr. hammer has the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced, to the point of cruelty to my child. It wouldnt be so bad if her diagnoses were correct, but they werent. The office staff is rude, curt, uncaring and unresponsive. I would not recommend her to anyone. more

I have left messages for the nurse and either i don't get a call back or it was the next day. My child is on daily meds and to get a refill each month is like pulling teeth. But just to clarify the problem does NOT lay on DR. Hammer she is a terrific doctor and when you FINALLY get to see her she does spend a lot of time with you and does answer all of your questions. I have never had a problem with her requesting referrals. She actually goes beyond to make sure there isn't something else wrong. more

Dr. Hammar is good, when you finally get in to see her. Even with an appointment at 9 am we waited 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Everytime we go, that is simply how long it takes to get in. Which is completely ridiculous for working parents. Right now, my husbank is leaving without seeing the doctor because he has been waiting for an hour and a half, and he needs to get to work. Unless you have all the time in the world to sit around and wait, go to another doctor. more

Dr. Hammar and her nurses have been very nice and very concerned about the well-being of our children. We've been going to see her for about two and a half years now. But be aware, her practice is very busy -- many children come through there every day. Yes, you do have to wait a long time and there doesn't seem to be any way around that. But when she arrives, Dr. Hammar spends a lot of time with you. She does not hurry you, or the issues concerning your child -- which is likely how she treats all of her patients. This is probably why it takes a long time to see her. Her staff is also good about taking calls and giving advice in between appointments. I agree with the other reviewer that the women at the front desk are not as courteous as they could be. Nevertheless, my wife and I believe she is a good and caring physician. more

Dr. Hammar was the first peditrician we chose, essentially our insurance said we ciuld only pick from her group. She is very nice, but she's just an ok doctor. ShShe didn't seem to be used to parents asking questions or having knowledge of medicine and it seemed to irk her. It was like pulling teeth to get her to approve a genetic test our daugther needed sto check for something several of her cousin had. The nurses were nice, but the front desk staff wasn't. You had to wait a very long time. The waiting room was dirty too. So glad I found a different doctor to go to. more
