From the minute I walked into the store, I felt at home. It's a little grimey for my liking, but I could tell the employees really cared about their customers. It was nice to hear employees call customers by their name and vice versa. The store was packed with all different hardware and gardening stuff. I am always treated very well when I shop there and on every occassion, I've see Tak working side by side with his employees. I think it's great to support small family business and this is definitely one that I will refer my family and friends to. Let's keep small business alive! more

My sister randomly came across this website when she googled the name of the store. This is our dad's store and we're so happy to see that people are supportive of small business and that our dad's hard work and dedication is appreciated. He truly cares about home improvement and wants nothing more than to see his customer's walk away satisfied. You walk into the door and are made to feel like you're part of the family. Also, if you're in the neighborhood, try Tak's Coffee Shop. That's owned by my grandma. ; ) more

Better than Home Depot 9/12/2005

I was looking for a certain type of chain for the inside of my toilet mechanism, and walked into this place because I was passing it. The owner is a very nice guy who was willing to help me out with whatever I needed. He found the chain very fast and I was in and out in 5 minutes. more

This is a great store for your hardware and home needs. They've got a small but decent gardening section with some fun plants and gardening items. They've got lots of paint supplies and equipment you'd need to fix up the home. I go there for little home things that I wouldn't know where to find elsewhere...most recently bought a garage door opener there. the serive is great and item are great!! this store is a must recommended more

A Dying Breed Indeed 8/14/2005

I loved the personal service they gave me at Tak's when I needed to reinstall the postal box in front of the house. Got the small screws, some advice on the job, and it was a success. Try it instead of going to Home Depot and praying to find someone to help you. more

One of the last local hardware stores 8/5/2005

Home Depot and Lowes are destroying local hardware stores. There are a lot of benefits to that - lower prices, more selection. But you miss out on places like Tak's Hardware. It's run by a Japanese family who has served the South Central community for decades. It is a modest shop, but still manages to supply everything you would need for some serious remodelling. They stock a full selection of plumbing supplies, as well as everything a gardener would need. They are also very friendly people and are glad to give you tips on how to fix things. They even extend tabs to people they know. Support your local business! more
