I love Japanese food. I mean REALLY love Japanese food but this stuff was awful. Not being a huge sushi fan in particular, I have a unique perspective in that I tend to not fall for the gimmick of veiling bad Japanese cuisine with gimmicky sushi. The wait was long on a pretty slow weekday night, the servers took forever, and subsequently, the ""happy hour"" menu we were given was not the pricing we received by the time the bill came around (Of course it was after 6 by the time we were served, we sat with our menus and glasses of water with no server in sight for 25 minutes). Rice and miso aren't included in anything except the WAY overpriced ""dinner"" selections and my usual order of an appetizer sized veg tempura with a side of rice barely put a dent in my now starved stomach. My boyfriend's sushi was tasty enough he said, but not for the price. The huge TV mounted over the fountain in front of us was a distraction, if I wanted a sports bar, I would've gone to Mandangos instead of what i thought was a classy Japanese place. I'll stick to Ichi Maki in Rancho or the various Mikuni's locations. Mikuni's may be pricey, but I never leave hungry.
Pros: Water was clean?
Cons: Food, service, ambience, PRICE
