Good Sushi, Good Atmosphere 3/6/2011

Takara is VERY GOOD. The ambiance is nice, and the Sushi is EXCELLENT. Tied with Mobo for our favorite sushi place. Both are highly recommended. Bravo! more

Great Food 9/24/2010

Not only does this place have good food but they are quick with their service, friendly, great for the whole family and very clean. My kids love sushi and this place is affordable. I don't but they have chicken- and its great. Try the place. more

HAPPY HOUR! 2/20/2006

Go for a good happy hour nosh. Get edemame and some crispy gyoza or some california rolls and a beer. If you do that you can have a tasty adventure for under 10 bucks! my borther use them for catering and has been verry happy with their results. I would say you cant go wrong here. Unless you hate the fact that this place is in the mall parking lot... yeah. Pros: tasty!, HAPPY HOUR! Cons: @ the mall, $$$$$ more

Best Japanese in Town 6/6/2002

Admittedly, it's been awhile but I'm willing to wager that Takara is still the best Japanese in Santa Cruz. Unfortunately, the new location leaves a lot to be desired. The Capitola Mall -- what were they thinking? Pros: good food, parking easy, good service Cons: mall location more
