This is another surprising find located in a somewhat anonymous strip mall near the Avenues off Southside Blvd. From the outside, all you can see is numerous hand-lettered signs advertising their all-you-can-eat buffet. I asked the hostess if they also served a normal dinner menu since my partner and I never eat from buffets. She looked a little confused but said, "Yes, of course", and led us to our table. The menu was absolutely enchanting, listing dishes I've never encountered on any Indian menu in the USA, although I had seen a few during my years in London.
It was too hard to decide, so we order the "Indian Dinner for Two" -- a full 5 course meal including big bowls of mulligatawny soup, an assortment of appetizers, two meat dishes of our choice (we chose a very spicy lamb dish similar to vindaloo, and a lush buttery chicken dish with cashews), along with a thick vegetable curry, pullao rice, exquisite naan, and gulab jamun for dessert. All this for $20 apiece. Highly recommended. I didn't see my favorite roti on the menu, so I asked if they could make it for me. No problem! In a few minutes I had a basket of delicous poori to help mop up the spicy sauce from the lamb.
