Just Stunning!! 11/10/2011

We held our wedding reception here last month and there are absolutely no words to describe how amazing everything was. To start, from the minute our guests stepped into the venue the staff provided exceptional service to us and all our guests till the minute we stepped out. They knew how to help us and what we needed before we even had a chance to ask. Then the food!!! The food was incomparable!! Absolutely top-quality, our guests are still raving about it, saying it was the best they've ever had. And of course, the beautiful venue itself, the design and lighting system can not be described in words how stunning it is. Even after being there for hours, you still want to look up and enjoy the lighting......\r \r That day it wasn't just a venue provided to us, it was soooo much more! They helped our whole wedding run smoothly, even helping with things that they didn't have to help with.....\r \r With this beautiful hall and the help of their exceptional staff our dream wedding became a reality!!! more

AMAZING 10/28/2011

I just had my wedding at Taglyan and people can't stop talking about how fantastic the food and service was. Most of these people are picky resaurant owners. Weeks later I'm still getting compliments (even from a wedding planner who just happened to attend) about how wonderful the food, service, lighting, amazing sound and overall feel of the place was. People keep asking me how I found this place, I'm just glad I found it before any of my other engaged friends did! My wedding was perfect!!!!!!!! more

Worst Armenian Wedding Ever Bad Food Beyond Horrible Service 9/4/2011

We attended a wedding here recently and I happen to know the father of the bride who paid $100 per person for this event. We were there at 8:00pm mingling in the lobby where they served tiny chicken and shrimp skewers with cheap sparkling wine. One of the guests asked the manager if there was a smoking area and the manager started a long rude lecture about how second hand smoke is bad for children's health. Several other guests joined in and it turned into an ugly public argument. This is completely unprofessional and I think there should be a serious complaint just for this. We went into the hall and a tiny tin of caviar and salmon roe was sitting on each table for 12 people with no accompaniments, like blinis. There was also a plate of Russian salad. All the tables were stacked with unnecessary flatware and glasses. People wanted to drink and have fun, but there was no food to drink with. The first course did not arrive until one hour and a half later. In the meantime, the two fathers in law were busy arguing with each other about what a disaster this whole party was with the food being so measly and so late. The ""main course"" was a piece of half beef tenderloin sliced into thin slices and served for the whole table. It was followed by cold chicken skewers, cold kabobs accompanied by measly potato cake and rice pilaf. There was also a fish course that smelled very fishy. Everything that could possibly taste bad, tasted horrible, even the potato cake was burned. The food was so cold and disgusting, people didn't even eat it. Many guests wondered if it was being brought in from somewhere else, because everything tasted like it was a day old. People definitely felt like they didn't get their money's worth. Every course served in one plate for the table, was the equivalent of two restaurant portions, thinly sliced into 12 slices for 12 people. The service was equally horrible. Our waiter admited that it was his first day on the job and it took him forever to bring simple things like water or soda, none of which were provided automatically. We sat at an empty table and you had to specifically request everything including obvious things like bread and water. There is no professionalism here, no sense of service and the food is low quality food that is definitely not prepared by a professional chef. In terms of what was paid for and what we received it was beyond ridiculous. If you want a high class event and you want to spend money for an outstanding event and fantastic food, this is not the place for you. I imagine this place will get a bad reputation very quickly. There was a lot of hype about the decor, it is simply a copy of the Beverly Hills Hotel windows and curtains and the foyer designs at the Marriott, even the carpet is similar. I think the owners and the managers should attend an event at the Beverly Hills Hotel or the Marriott to see how a high class event with excellent service and food is accomplished. It is laughable that such a mediocre venue with horrible food and even worse service, would dare to think of itself as a place for hosting high class events. I think anyone who pays $100 per person for this venue is simply a fool who doesn't know any better. With the light show and the sound system, this place is best suited for club style events where people don't care about food or service and pay about $30 per person to get in. more
