call from out of state to get a menu faxed for a party of 25 management said on numerous occassion they would fax it and never did. bad management

I read about Taco Taco Cafe in Bon Appetit so I wanted to try famous tacos and to be honest I was really dissapointed.There is so many better places (for example Taco House on San Pedro). The true is that tacos are really big but is it enough to make a great taco? I don't think so more

Everything from the taco's to the enchiladas are amazing. The service was great as well as the atmosphere. You might have to wait in a line but it is well worth it! Pros: excellent food and service more

This place is amazing, yeah- fine so it's a little cramped when there's a crowd; but that just helps reinforce the 1940's diner atmosphere. Food is served piping hot and fresh, coffee is excellent, servers are attentive- but not overly so, and the food is FANTASTIC the price is great too. You'll see a variety of patrons ranging from students pulling all nighters, professors, older couples, or even young couples out to cure the morning hangover from last nights drinks. I live in Houston and eat at this place every time I visit!!! Pros: tasty, cheap, delicious more

Excellent food 12/19/2006

This place has a line that goes outside the door into the parking lot on the weekends regardless of the weather. The breakfast tacos are amazing. Everything is made fresh to order in front of your very eyes. Th staff is courteous and attentive. Recomend it to anyone and everyone! Pros: food, service, ambience more

Used to be the best 10/28/2006

Please take note of the dates of the other reviews! A couple of years ago the owner of Taco Taco Cafe took over the management too. Since then, the food has been inconsistent and the service has been horrible. All of this is most likely due to the large amount of turnover. I was a regular but finally couldn't take it any more. more

I live nearby and drop in for breakfast often--to echo what's noted elsewhere here, the food is always top-notch and CHEAP and the people friendly. Say hi to owner Maria at the register. more

Tortillas from Heaven 8/13/2002

The Northside really does have everything! I have eaten tacos in every part of town and Taco Taco can not be beat. They are good, friendly, and consistent. The flour tortillas are out of this world! What else can you ask for? I don't know Maria personally, but I sure do admire her. She has done an outstanding job and I look forward to eating there for many years to come. more

All Worth It! 7/26/2002

Everything about this little place is great! The food is fabulous, the people are nice, and the price is right. Everyone i introduce to this ""Mexican Food Haven"" has also become addicted. Although all is good, here are some of my favorites: Caldo, Huevos Rancheros, Soft Taco Plate, Carne Guisada, and Crispy Tacos.....and don't forget the ranchero sauce ( I put in on everything!) more
