Campbell's Late Night Secret 4/11/2011

After five beers and five shots, Taco Bravo is the final destination in Campbell before calling it a night. Taco Bravo attracts the oddest crowd but develops the best of stories to tell. When the bars close, all the drunks wander here for a late night meal. The food is good when sober but its the best meal ever when you're intoxicated. The staff is a diverse yet the most unusual bunch of colorful characters that will not be seen at any other eatery. For first timers, the ""Super Nacho"" is the most recommended meal. If you don't have an interesting Taco Bravo story than you did not have a proper experience. Its better to go with friends and 5 beers than alone and sober. more

Tacos made by Meth heads instad of Mexicans 11/7/2009

Taco Bravo is just as shitty as it looks. I've driven by 100 times on basom, but never stopped. Today I went, only because taco bell was closed. It was so horrible! The servers were offering alcohol to their friends, everyone was strung out. I wish I could have had taco bell!! Now I'm stuck with a burrito made by the nastiest hills have eyes type looking ppl i've ever seen Pros: its warm Cons: Taco bell is waayyyy better. (And their servers have teeth) more

good 3/27/2009

not gonna win any zagat awards, but good food priced low. i suggest the soft tacos with as much heat as you can stand more

if you dont like it dont come bak 1/12/2009

I just want to thank all the supporters and say screw you to all the haters. We are tired of all you ungrateful people talking garbage and being rude when we bend over backwards and give it to you faster than anyone else. What you guys dont realize is the more garbage you talk the less food you get and the more lettuce you get. Try being nicer and more respectful next time and you will get alot better food next time. We wont take your garbage we will talk garbage back. BOLDLY. We give everyone a chance to be cool but it's when you act stupid and ignorant is when our attitude changes and you don't get nothing from us. (RESPECT) Give some get some. Give none get none!!!!!! GET IT Pros: cheaper with big portions Cons: working here more

Great if your drunk, mediocre at best if you're not! 7/16/2007

For under 4 bucks I bought what everyone there was having, the SUPER BURRITO, it's about 3lbs, HUGE! If you have a hole in your stomach and you like Taco Bell and Weinschnizzel (which is right next door), this is the place for you; however, with all the tasty burritos around town, don't go out of your way to get one unless someone else drives you there, because your wasted and can't see straight. This place is far from authentic; your only choice of meat is ground beef, and then refried beans and tons of cheddar go on everything. Why anyone makes this a destination is beyond me. more

Taco Smell should be ashamed 7/10/2007

The regular tacos are larger than Taco Bell's super taco and half the price. All of the food has always been fresh. Flavors and quality are better than the typical taco stand. The prices have risen very little in 20 years- taco 1981-$.89, 2007- $1.09. All the food is a bargain. You can ask for any item any way you like- and they make it. Whats not to like? Pros: quality, service, price, hours, mexican chick at the register Cons: drunken and/or stoned teenagers in the parking lot more

Not fit 6/29/2007

Not fit for human consumption. If you're REALLY drunk and you have no other options, it might not hurt you. But its not recommended for people with taste buds. Highly Recommended for dogs and other household pets with strong stomachs. Pros: Cheap Dog Food Cons: Cheap Dog Food more

The best late night food in the South Bay 10/12/2005

It's not the best food, but after a night of drinking it somehow becomes the only thing I want. Don't order too much because you get a lot, it's not Taco Bell. One of the best parts of Bravo though is checking out the late night clientele. And if you're really hungry, try ordering a ""boneyard""-not all employees will know what that is unfortunately. Bravo is cheap and it shows, but out of all the late night fast food choices there are, it's the best. Pros: Portion size, Cheap Cons: Quality, Parking more

Forget Taco Bell! 5/12/2005

They do not skimp on ingredients! Excellent food! Great Value! more

Great food 1/4/2005

Ignore the last persons comments, he doesn't know what he's talking about, this place is great. Had a few friends introduce me to this place about 4 years ago and have been hooked ever since. I make the journey to Campbell as much as I can and wish they had more closer (theres also one in Fremont but wish there was one in or close to San Bruno). Not talking top notch/authentic Mexican food here, but its awesome none the less. The hot sauce is great, go for the double nachos (ask for both the naco cheese sauce and the shredded cheese). The crunchy beef tacos are great too. And make sure you know what you want before ordering, the employees will order for you if you can't make up your mind. Overall, eat here, sweet food, and if you don't like it, somethings wrong with you. Pros: Nachos, Tacos, Cheap Cons: , None, None more

disappointed 7/18/2004

After reading the reviews for Taco Bravo from citysearch.com I had a mad craving for some food. A couple of my friends ordered nachos, tacos, burritos and this pizza like dish. The restaurant is a shack and you must sit outside on the dirty tables. They dont deliver your food, it's pretty much like a drive thru; except you walk. Everything, I mean, EVERYTHING was soggy due to the massive overload of beans. The super nachos were smothered with cheese and beans. My burrito was drowning in beans and lacked flavor. From what I just said, you know the food texture was awful. There weren't anything special, no guacomole, no sour cream, no hot sauce. They gave me 8-9 containers of so called hot sauce; I drank them. Eat here if you plan to have gas. Taco Bell makes better food for the same price. Pros: cheap Cons: , no service, no texture more

special comments 5/2/2003

day manager is a plus for the place. you can always count on good sence of humor, fast service, tasty eats and extra cheese. With warm weather on its way, outside dining would be more enjoyable if the landscaping was cleaned - up. Pros: food serving, cost, day managers ass Cons: bathrooms, front line, landscapping more

Thanks, San Jose Harley 2/10/2003

Taco Bravo has some really good food. its american style Mexican food. I like the fact that they are open late 7 days week from 9:00 am until 3:00 am. The price of the food & soft drinks isn`t bad at all for the amount of food served. I never knew how good the food was until I tried it at San jose Harley during a motorcycle & hotrod Event. (the tacos & Burritos were free) There are three things that could use improvement. The Bathroom is awful. The state should shut them down for it looking like such a rats nest. The other thing is that the staff is really weird. they don`t say much to you. one other thing is that the tables are often dirty & that doesen`t look good for a a person going there for the first time. Pros: Good Food, Plenty of Parking, Great Prices Cons: Bathroom is Shabby, Staff is Weird, Dirty Tables at Times more

my addiction!!! 2/7/2003

I just have to say since my sister-in-law introduced me to Taco Bravo I can't get enough. The border people just cannot compare. Taco Bravo actually puts cheese on their tacos, and the prices just can't be beat Whoo Hoo! The hours don't hurt either they are there for the late late night munchies. Pros: inexpensive Cons: not enough locations more

Bravo Rocks! 2/7/2003

I moved from Campbell to SoCal almost three years ago, but every trip back MUST include at least one visit to Taco Bravo! In my younger days, we used to frequent the bars in the area, and always ended up at the end of the night back at Taco Bravo. My favorites are the Super Burrito and the Super Taco, although having both can be quite filling! Living here closer to the border, there is nothing even close to the yumminess of Taco Bravo! Pros: Great hours, Inexpensive, Great value Cons: Limited seating more

Best food after intoxication 1/29/2003

This is a must, if you are looking for somewhere to get some good food after a night of drinking, or even just to grab a quick bite. Taco Bravo is a must. Couldnt have an easier menu to choose from but yet there is variety. Just to mention, you can feed a herd for little money. *Just a note, try the super nachos, they are unbelievable. If eating at night, you might want to bring a jacket, only outdoor seating. I recommend this place to all people but mainly 15-40. Watch-out clerks are wierd. Pros: Inexpensive, Quick & Easy, Service Cons: Seating more

Best Drunk Food Around! 12/25/2002

Great nearly authentic mexican food, at a price you can't beat. The service and the staff are in a class all its own. At 2:30am there is no better place to eat in the South Bay! it's also the best pro-active cure for a hang over, and the best thing when drunk (or high). Bon Appetite! Pros: Ambience, Outside tables, Patrons more

When I want a taco, I head to Bravo! 12/3/2002

Food: Bravo's food is great. Every item is tasty and has generous ingredients packed into it. I enjoy their tacos, but they are known for their burritos. If you are lactose intolerant, request little or no cheese on your burritos -- they're packed with it! I order the tostados when I want some variety. Atmosphere: Taco Bravo is in a small building, with an open arch entrance and only a few steps forward to the counter. As a result the seating inside is minimal. Outside seating is always sufficient, but Bascom is a busy street so car noise and exhaust are a given. Because of this it is not a great place for a corporate lunch. Service: The employees work fast, are friendly and have a nice sense of humor. Taco Bravo also has an ordering lingo that the regulars use. ""I want two reds without, with extra, plus."" Pros: Great food, Generous portions, Nice service Cons: Little indoor seating more
