Taboon At the Vally Middle Eastern Restaurant

A couple of evenings ago, some friends, my husband and me went to Taboons (Flint location, by the mall). We were seated, and served in an excellent and prompt fashion- all was well. However, when my husband paid for dinner- we waited half an hour and did not get his credit card back. Tired of waiting, my husband asked our server where his card was so that we could leave, the waitress gave a flurry of excuses and said they could not locate the card and were trying to look for it. We waited for another 20 minutes before my husband became very flustered and asked to speak with the manager. The response from the ladies at the cash register was that she was "Not there." So, not only did the wait-staff manage to lose my husband's credit card, there was no management or supervision available to speak with. When I asked for the manager's phone number, they gave me Taboon's number and told me to call the manager in the morning. The wait staff simply continued to blame the young lady running the cash register and said that she was not properly trained and was poor at her job. This, in my opinion was a horrible excuse- how poorly managed can a restaurant be?! After having sat in wait for over an hour over the whole mess, we left and had my husband's card deactivated since there was obviously no other resolution to be offered. When my husband called the manager, she told him she had not been informed of the situation- but found his card lying on the counter when she got in- and every time she attempted to run the card it said it was denied. How IDIOTIC can you be?! Which begs the question, if they couldn't find the card while we were there- where was it? Did someone attempt to steal it? How miraculous it was that it magically reappeared when the manager shows up the next morning... I will NEVER return to this restaurant. If you want fantastic middle-eastern food in Flint, where they WON'T lose your credit card and you actually WILL get seated with fantastic service DO NOT go to Taboons!!! What a NIGHTMARE! more

Went to eat at Taboon's by Genesee Vally Mall in Flint MI on Linden Rd. The fresh baked bread is the best bread I have even eaten. The food was excellent also. The only problem was the waitress flirting with my husband. Men with wedding rings on are off limits to other women. If the waitresses back off the husbands and do the job they are hired to do this would be a renowned restaurant. Concerned wife more

Good: The bread HOT out of the oven with that irresistible garlic dip... and the FATTOUSH salad was OUT OF THIS WORLD FRESH!. Bad: How full I was.... Improvements: Honestly, I'd like to see myself be able to stop eating so much!. Other: WONDERFUL dining experience, fantastic service, food that's out of this world great, and terrific people!. more

Used to be near lakeside, best mideast food i have EVER had and I mean it. Please come back asap! Or get another a bit closer to Clinton Township.. I will even pray for that, it is was superb! I go nowhere else, after tasting this food nothing will satisfy!!!! more

Good: THE CHICKEN BREAST IS THE BEST ALL THE CHICKEN WAS TENDER AND SPICED JUST RIGHT. THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. THE PRICES WERE FAIR.. Improvements: BEER AND WINE SERVED. Other: THE BEST MIDDLE EASTERN RESTAURANT IN GENESEE COUNTY. more

If the food was as great as the decor this would be a top notch restaurant. Most of the food is Americanized plus you get far too much food. It is interesting to see the "baked while you watch" pita bread. IMHO this is just an average dining experience, one step up from fast food. more

THE BEST MIDDLE EASTERN FOOD I HAVE HAD. AND I HAVE EATEN A LOT OF IT FROM BACK IN THE 70S VERY GOOD. WILL GO EVER CHANCE I GET. THANK YOU. more

I think tabbon its an awesome restaurant, it has a fresh squeezed juices, fresh bread coming out the oven, healthy food and a good service i don't think u can ask for more, i was a daily customer of badawest but when i found out about taboon i went and ate there, i seen a lot of different, now taboon it the one of the bestest middle eastern restaurants more

Living in an area where almost all of your restaurant selections is a chain restaurant, Taboons is a great place to go! The atmosphere is cozy, and the food is amazing. I love the hot out of the oven pita breads. You must order the hummus and the falafel. The salads are all fresh, and VERY tasty. And not to mention, it is very reasonably priced. Taboons is one of my favorite places to eat. more

Taboon is one of the best restaurant I ever ate in. I am originally from NYC. When I was in Flint last summer my friend took me to Taboon. As soon as you enter the restaurant it feels like you are in another country. The middle eastern setting there is terrific. Not to mention the food, it was so delicious. The pita bread with there garlic butter. This was just the appetizer. The fresh salad with the main course was so out of this world. The friendly service and great food makes Taboon one of the restaurant that I will visit over and over again no matter which part of U.S I live in. What makes Taboon more special is that I was there with someone very special. I suggest you go with your lover or your family and I assure you that you will have the time of your life and the best food of your lifetime. more

Taboons has the most incredible food. Grilled chicken kabobs & grilled vegi's. You couldnt ask for a healthier choice and so flavorful. We'll never eat out for burgers again. The value was great too, always more than we can eat, even if we split. more

This is the healthiest most flavorful food I've ever tasted. Did you know even the fresh baked pita is from stone ground flour? They have incredible choices, great prices & very generous portions. We'll never vist a burger joint again. Just absolutely love this place. Awesome, can't wait for another location near Grand Blanc. Good news, they deliver!! more

Taboon offers middle eastern food in the traditional setting. Good service is only topped by fresh bread being made constantly to distribute to the customers is a big plus. Stopping in for a quick sandwich or a full meal - never a bad choice more

Taboon took the place of the old Ponderosa building (near the mall on Linden Road), and it was definitely an improvement. The menu covers all the traditional food and it's pretty reasonably priced. The pita is nice and fresh, and the food is pretty good. The one thing I did notice was that in some of the dishes there was a lot of garlic...but it still tasted pretty good. The one thing I'd note, is if you're like me and you tend to take a lot home in leftovers, the food didn't reheat very well, so you may be better off trying to finish it off at the restaurant. more
