TCF Equipment Finance

I've worked with TCF Equipment Finance for years leasing vehicles for use with my carpentry company. I shopped around before making a decision on this but TCF had very fair rates and I felt comfortable with my rep, Paul. Everything was explained thoroughly and I felt comfortable with the deal when it was finalized. I don't know what happened with other people here, but I didn't have a single problem with the financing process, I read the fine print and nothing had changed after signing. Believe me, if they changed something on me after signing I would have noticed and I wouldn't have stood for it. I know it is difficult these days to get financing, I feel fortunate I already have a relationship with this company and that things are going well with them. Would I like lower interest rates? Certainly, but I am confident I am getting a fair deal with them now, so I'm not going to complain. I was referred to the company by a friend in the construction industry and I would pass on the referral to another friend. more

This is the worst experience with financing I have ever had. We purchased a commercial vehicle and was referred to TCF for financing. After submitting credit and personal information we had come to finance terms with Tim Bazer, TCF Rep. After delivery of vehicle we received a call from Tim Bazer, TCF, aka; snake oil guy to change terms of payment options. Originally we were to receive a payment book and send monthly payment in. After we had accepted delivery, according to TCF, the terms now had to be redone to allow for automatic withdrawl, which we had specifically said we did not want to do. Both of our credit scores are over 800 and have financed numerous vehicles in the past, all of which are paid for in full. We will NEVER do business with this company again! It seems that at least this companys salesman deserves the slimy and creepy reputation finance guys have earned in their field. Make sure you know how your representative earns his commission. With past employment in a dealership reception office, this was one tactic finance guys used to use to bump up their commission, and there is little to nothing the customer can do once delivery of vehicle has been accepted.
