Best

Just simply good food.

Worst

3rd bite, second half of my steak and cheese sub, I found myself chewing on a USED BAND-AID!

East Coast in Pioneer Square 1/25/2005

I love this place. Best deli food around. I'm not from the East Coast, but my friends that are swear that this place is ""authentic."" They even have Whiz and Tasty Cakes. Yum! more

Delicious salads... 1/25/2005

Or so it would appear through the deli case, but you'd be a fool not to pass them up in favor of something off of the hot sandwich menu. I've never had a sandwich on par with either the Tatstrami or the Grinder anywhere in NY, Philly or in either Westchester or West Chester. This place is long overdue in Seattle, where I've been patiently awaiting its arrival for the last 10 years. Friends, take note... this is what a real sandwich tastes like. more

best cheesesteak west of the Mississippi 1/10/2005

The food here is great. I would highly recommend the philly cheesesteak. It just like being in philly and going to Pat's or Geno's. The meat is chopped like at Pat's. Dont foget to get it with whizz. The french fries are the best in town. Pros: diverse menu, good service, quality meats more

Seattle's Best Big Sandwich 1/5/2005

Great big messy hot and cold sam'miches and full deli. Irresistable flavors, high quality ingredients. Do yourself a favor - wear short sleeves and grab a stack of napkins. Easily the finest in Seattle. Pros: Great staff, Large menu, Quick service more

yummmy! 1/5/2005

I'm from the East Coast originally and spent quite a few years trying to find not only the taste of East Coast deli but also it's unique ambiance. In the past few years, I've found that I cannot eat wheat or dairy any longer...the horror! I went to Tat's with my husband so that he could sample their cheesesteak for both of us and was pleasantly surprised to find that they were happy to accommodate my dietary needs as well. They made me one of their sandwiches with just the meat in a roll up form on a bed of lettuce and tomato and it was absolutely delicous. These guys not only have a good thing going but they were extremly helpful for a person with special needs in a place I thought I would be least likely to find it. Thanks Tat's-I'll be back! more

TAT'S A DREAM COME TRUE 1/5/2005

TAT'S IS WHAT SEATTLE HAS BEEN LONGING FOR. WHEN I MOVED OUT HERE FROM THE EAST COAST IN 2000 I WOULD STOP BY EVERY PLACE THAT HAD ""DELI"" IN THEIR NAME/SIGN/ADVERTISING. I WOULD GET A SANDWICH WITH ONE PIECE OF MEAT, ONE PIECE OF CHEESE AND LEAF LETTUCE ON WHITE BREAD. NOT GONNA SHAKE IT. TAT'S OPENED AND MY PRAYERS WERE ANSWERED. REAL CHEESETEAKS, ITALIAN SUBS, PASTRAMI SANDWICHES, YOU NAME IT THEY'VE NAILED IT. ALL OF IT ON SOME OF THE BEST BREAD IN THE CITY. EAST COAST IN EVERYWAY EXCEPT ATTITUDE (ISN'T THAT WHY WE ALL LEFT THE EAST COAST IN THE FIRST PLACE)! BRAVO, IT'S ABOUT TIME! Pros: GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE more

Tat's Rules! 1/4/2005

I'm not in Seattle that often, but you can be sure I'll be visiting Tat's Deli every time I am! An original East Coaster, I grew up on deli. I was really impressed with the Pastrami. Look out Carnegie Deli! Lots of other great stuff that I can't wait to try. Thanks Tat's! Pros: Authentic, Best ingredients, Super tasty more

Tat's made me cry like a baby 1/3/2005

I thought it wasn't possible to find a genuine Philly experience on the West Coast. How wrong I was. Not only was the ""Tatstrami"" sandwich spilling over with the finest pastrami this side of the Delaware, but the guys behind the counter--who either are from Philly or hired dialect coaches--didn't give me a lick of crap for ordering it sans slaw. Even the steak fries were Just Like Home. If I were in Seattle more often, Tat's would be more than a regular stop for this East Coast transplant--it'd be a place of worship. more

A bite of heaven 1/3/2005

The only thing you need here is a bigger stomach...and if you follow my suggestion of a daily dose of the delectable Tatstrami, you very well might have one! Portions are enormous, the meats fall apart with a mere glance, and the rolls are fluffy and fresh. This is the best Philly cheesesteak I've had west of the Mississippi! Pros: Ample portions, Great meats, Excellent value more

True East Coast Deli 1/3/2005

I was born and raised in New York and I've never had a sandwich as tasty as the Tatstrami. From the first bite to the last I savored every moment. The chicken cheesesteak rivals any I've had in Philly. If you are looking for a great sandwich in an east coast style restaurant - Tat's is the place to try. The staff is friendly too! more
