T & S Chinese Restaurant

T&S looks like a dive from the outside. But inside, everything is fantastic, from the smiling service to the delicious salt-and-pepper dishes (the jalapenos add a wonderful flavor, even if you don't like hot food). The dim sum brunch is so good, with perhaps less variety than Tien Hong's, but such delicious food -- I especially love the tender curried squid and the sweet buns with coconut and the shrimp and pork dumplings and the...well, everything that I've tried, except for the sesame chicken from the dinner menu. The dinner menu is extensive, and everything always arrives steaming hot. The servers will pack your leftovers for you (we always order too much food so we'll have lots of them) and will give you an extra box of steamed rice if you like. Oh, and they deliver, too! I love this place! more

The DimSum served on Sundays is definitely not worth the money. I've had DimSum at other places in Austin for half the price with better selection and quality. The dumplings were cold and extremely oily. Too many of the items were all deep fried and their basic selection of steamed dumplings were flavorless. I would recommend going somewhere else for DimSum. more

Don't let the shabby looks fool you - this place is wonderful. Lunch specials can't be beat. Try any of the specials of the back menu. Any of the pot dishes are something special (I especially like the chicken and eggplant garlic pot). more

You can taste how natural all the food is - not too greasy or rich, but still flavorful! Chinese restaurant owners go here to eat! It's great food and a great value all in a casual setting. Conveniently located on Lamar. :-) more
