warning: can be highly addictive 2/4/2008

Man this place is good. Steamed dumplings are outstanding, orange chicken is insanely good -- so much that it's hard to order anything else. Good food, fast delivery, nice service. Best in the marina/venice area by far -- by far. Pros: good food, good delivery Cons: tough to park for pickup (see note on good delivery) more

Suprisingly good! 6/28/2007

I have to say I'm highly skeptical of Chinese food on the West Side. I found this place to be suprisingly good. The chicken wraps were far tastier than anything at P.F. Changs and the Tangerine Chicken had a perfect texture (not too doughy) and slightly sour delicious sauce. I'm very glad I ordered from them on a whim and will certainly do so again. Delivery was prompt. Recommended for Venice/ Marina Chinese delivery. more

Fresh, Delicious Food and Awesome Service 1/29/2007

I am new to the area and read the reviews on this restaurant so I gave it a shot. The lady that answered the phone was so nice and helpful in suggesting certain dishes and was very accommodating with the delivery timeframe on a rainy Saturday night. To my surprise, the delivery person came early and they had included a complimentary order of some delicious hot and sour soup. The previous reviews were right in that their meat portions and quality of food was excellent. The price was also very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food that you receive. I would reccommend placing this phone number in your speed dial for those nights that you just don't feel like cooking! Pros: Generous portions, fresh, quality food. Extremely personal and courteous staff. Cons: No web site menu. more

Long time favorite 11/11/2005

I've been in the area for a while and while I try the new restaurants that spring up, I consistently go back here. The prices are good and they don't skimp on the meat. Everything tastes fresh, too (unlike some of the smaller restaurants with less clientele). Amongst the newer decor, there are some very nice elements they've kept, like the chinese lanterns, scroll wallpaper and silk murals. They're really good for your classic stirfry but I've tried some other very delicious dishes (They have a spicy Szechwan Beef Noodle Soup. Also, I like the Sesame Sauce & Chicken Cold Noodles and the Minced Chicken in lettuce cups, which are large, delicious appetizers that can make a meal.) more

Best Chinese food in the area! 11/6/2005

I am a long time customer. The food is consistently tasty and fresh, and can be cooked in a more healthy way if you ask (water cooked, no oil). The generous portions and value can't be beat. The meat is very tender and never dry. The shrimp is cooked to a delicious and crunchy perfection, not mealy at all. For soup I would recommend the hot and sour, or the three flavor sizzling. Though you can eat for very cheap here, you can also order some of the more exotic and pricier seafood dishes which are great for people with refined tastebuds, showing that they can cook up super authentic dishes as well. I take my friends here whenever I am in the area. The atmosphere is relaxing, with comfortable, spacious booths and dimly lit lanterns. There is a bar in front. Pros: decor, value, delicious Cons: no music more

Gross! 10/29/2005

I have ordered take-out from this place a couple of times, and it is consistently...BAD!!! The chicken is chewy and of poor quality. I ordered mu shu pork once and it tasted as though the meat had gone bad. It was so disgusting, I took one bite and threw it away! Fried rice is equally as bad - I don't think I've ever gotten anything from this place that is remotely edible. DO NOT waste your money on this sludge! Cons: slow delivery, disgusting, bad food, not fresh more

Good Chinese Food 6/2/2002

Szechwan is a very comfortable restaurant for either lunch or dinner. The old red leather booths offer a nice respite from a busy day. The specials are generous, featuring an entree, egg rolls and delicious soup. Also, everything is surprisingly healthy for an old school-looking Chinese restaurant. Pros: nice ambiance, parking lot more
