The presence inside the restaurant was amazing. Very homey and the staff were all very accomodating. The food was outstanding and the dining area kept very clean. Can't forget that they coffee was great as well!!! Pros: Great atmosphere, food, service, and poeple Cons: I couldn't find any!! more

I just love this place. I can see all of the work and creativity that goes into all of the dishes that they serve, and at such a reasonable price. I found the employees to all be very attentive, and accomodating. I havn't had a bad thing on the menu. Everythings delicious. You just dont find such wonderful little jewels in Gresham very often, and Im very thankful to have this place. I tell everyone I know that they have to try this place, they dont know what they're missing. I highly recommend the eggs benidicts for breakfast and the Steak and peppy jack for lunch. But you really cant go wrong with anything. more

Sympatico is a great addition to Gresham. The food is fresh,delicious and great portions. The atmosphere I think could use some work though. It is a little too religious for my taste and I could see it turning some people off from dining there. Maybe if they toned that down a little bit it would have more of an actual French bistro feel. Sympatico has the best Breakfast and Lunch in Gresham. The food is very fresh, local, homemade and exceptionally tasty. Everything is made to order and the quality tells it all. This is truly the best place in Gresham and can compete with many Portland restaurants. This is something Gresham has needed for a long, long, long, looong time. I took my mother-in-law here on the recommendation of a friend. I wasn't impressed with the outside of the restaurant, the location doesn't match the sophistication of the restaurant. Whatever your heart desires! And probably more. Superb flavors are startling and amazing. Being a more ""mature"" person, I have constantly been surprised, and pleasantly elated with the amount , the presentation, and the consistency of the quality of food served. I began eating at Sympatico about 2 years ago for lunch, (along with hundreds of others). The Hungarian Soup and any kind of sandwich or salad was the event I looked forward to. I live in Boring, not far from Sandy. I would go into Gresham even though Sandy is much closer, just to eat at ""Sympatico."" They now have added breakfast, and dinner. Double YUM. Whatever your choice is, if you are not satisfied, your taste buds haven't grown up yet. (Big Smile) The owners are accomodating, pleasant, and professional. I have never had a bad meal. After watching the meals go by, perhaps I would have wanted something other than what I had ordered...We were discussing with Rebecca (one of the owners), that perhaps some background music would be ideal in the summer months when the side doors can be opened up. Whatever your tastebuds are, you will be satisfied. Because they prepare food from scratch, and get busy at lunch time, call ahead and order over the phone if time is not on your side. While in Gresham on a Sunday, a couple of weeks ago, I thought I would visit the highly recommended restaurant, Sympatico. It was morning and I'm not really a breakfast person, but I was hungry and had some time to spare. I picked up a menu at the counter and looked at my options. Turning my head to the close-by kitchen and grill, I saw several Eggs Benedict accompanied by potatoes. I don't like Eggs Benedict. After ordering a hot croissant with ham and swiss I made my way to the dining area and saw that several people had ordered the Eggs Benedict, but they all looked different. Some of them had salmon, some with ham and I couldn't tell what the others were. But I overhead the diners (groups of ladies that were clearly friends, couples who wanted a special breakfast, I didn't see any children because this place looked more like a grownup get-away) commenting on how wonderful it was. By this time I wished I had ordered the EB. On my way out, the server was kind enough to offer me a taste. I was in heaven. It had all the wonderful elements you could hope for. Pros: Grown-ulp get-away French feel to it. Cons: I don't like the horse as their logo. Takes away from the upscale worthiness of it. more

it's nice to have an alternative in Gresham to your average sub shop when you want a piece of bread and deli cuts. Fresh crisp vegies and delicious spreads and cheeses w/ olives or artichokes between two pieces of bread. The soups are delicious and taste original and flavorful. The portions are a good size. Best dining in Gresham area. Dinners are a gourmet experience, and you'll take leftovers home. Try the steak dishes, salmon and salads. Cobb salad is excellent. Soups are extraordinary. Wine and beer now available. Try some of the Oregon reds. Breakfast and lunch menus are excellent, especially the variety of Eggs Benedict. Try the salmon or the steak Benedict. Extremely friendly staff. Have eaten there dozens of times and not a bad meal yet. Also good for meetings and banquets. The first time I came here I didnt know what to think. I had to bus my own table, get my own silverware, and water too, but by the end of my meal I was in love. I have been back 3 times since and have found it to be relaxing to just sit next to the indoor fountian and enjoy my tea and lunch like I am on a mini vacation.
