My daughter loves going to Sylvan and the progress she has made is amazing! She has always struggled with reading and Sylvan was able to identify her problem areas and address them. The individualized instruction and attention she received helped boost her confidence and motivation towards school (the tokens helped too!) We took my son to Sylvan this year, 4th grade, because he had struggled with his reading since 1st grade. Extra help at school wasn't proving to be effective and he shut down when my wife and I tried to help at home. We were really concerned about him ever being able to catch up and it was making his entire experience at school a struggle. more

I can only say good things about Sylvan's program! We were very impressed with the academic growth our daughter made in her math program. Another area I was very impressed with was scheduling. We would need to change times for whatever reason and it was always easy to do (most of the time). They have an entire team of professional teachers who specialize in different subjects. I have already recommended Sylvan to my friends. Pros: great teachers, flexible scheduling Cons: none that I can think of - we were very pleased more

Amazing progress, especially for boys of color who often face negative stereotypes in the classroom. Sylvan knows how to reverse it. I would definitely recommend Sylvan because of the excellent results my son had. more

I approached Sylvan with some skepticism, doubtful that it could have the effects claimed by their advertising. However, I am no longer skeptical! My daughter had struggled with reading for years. Hours with private tutors showed little overall improvement during her lower school years. The improvement in less than a year of Sylvan has been dramatic, with her reading comprehension increasing five grade levels. Her success at Sylvan has increased her confidence and she now takes schoolwork much more seriously, wanting to do as well as possible rather than feeling that she was not smart enough to do well. Sylvan?s structured approach; ongoing feedback, reward systems, and carefully planned curriculum have all worked for her. After years and thousands of dollars for tutoring that did not work, this has been a gift in our lives. Pros: Great staff, convenient hours Cons: None! more
