I hear this restaurant was once chosen the best in the Detroit area about 15 years ago in a local journal. At that time, Detroit suburbs were backward and this restaurant's pretentious hip deco appealed suburbanites who wished to be urbanites. I am a transplant from NY, and checked out this place about 13 years ago, and was aghasted that their misguided international dishes were horribly substandard. Indian curio menu came with ready-made pita bread (which is Arabic) and unsavory curry. Some Chinese-sounding dish had clump of watery rice. I ended up eating only a mouthful each time. However, at other occasions, Ameircan dishes were decent, and live jazz music was nice, but I have not been back there after the abovementioned horrible international dishes. I felt, at least at that time, the service was racially discriminating. This place may be improved in many ways by now, but I am not going back because of the repeated bad expereinces there.
Pros: amcience, parking, music
Cons: racially questionable service, slow service
