Best

It's an awesome restaurant, but really I'm just writing this to test Citysearch's implementation of Janrain Engage.

I ate there for the lunch buffet. I heard the pomp about the 16 items buffet, but really its not all that much bigger than some of the competition. Most of the dishes were veggi...

Editorial review from Citysearch 4/19/2014

Its funy when the owner is behind the register couple times a week charges more than what his employees charge normaly for lunch take out. Our company is close to the restaurant. we get take out launch there several times a week, than we noticed price change when the Owner is around we asked the employees and they said that the owner does whatever he wants. We called the owner to make sure but he Was not concerned and was very unprofessional and rude more

Great Indian food 12/8/2010

Everything here is so tasty. Their naan is some of the best I've ever had, the portions are really nice, and the lassies are wonderful. The decorations are very nice and I've always had friendly staff too-which is important to me. I highly recommend Swagat. more

Swagat is D shiznith 4 shizzle 1/26/2010

The food just nice, I need the receeepeeee..please! Pros: Buffet is da boom Cons: Waiters are nice too, but they need a Paris Hilton working more

Not bad for the 'burbs 7/17/2009

We eat at Swagat (Beaverton) for dinner occasionally. It's very consistent, always pretty good food at a decent price. It's certainly not the best Indian food in town, but for the price it's fine. They refurbished the dining room awhile back and it's now a little nicer -- before it was rather uninviting. Long story short: If you live in Beaverton and are looking for a decent Indian place in the hood, Swagat will fit the bill. Pros: good value more

Wonderful Indian food 5/23/2009

I've eaten their food for a long time now. My office frequently orders their take-out lunch boxes. The best, inexpensive lunch deal around. Pros: Great variety of dishes Cons: May have a long wait at lunch time more

Good dinner 4/17/2009

Nicer than expected. Went on Valentine's day, roses on the tables. Service was good, even with the restaurant filled. more

my favorite Indian food in the Portland area! 1/21/2009

Both locations of this Indian restaurant are amazing! Some of the best Indian food around- the curries are unique and flavorful, and the price is always right for the lunch buffet. I would eat here every day if possible! more

Always a good meal! 1/6/2009

We love both of the Swagat locations, both do a great job and the food is great! The buffet is the best and it is nice tobe able to pick out what you like. 5 stars for them for sure! more

Swagat is world class! 1/5/2009

The makani chicken is sent straight from heaven! The atmosphere is good and the wait staff is professional. The eggplant curry is to die for! I always have a great meal when I eat at swagat. It never misses! more

Inconsistent Quality and long wait for takeout at Swagats Beaverton 12/31/2008

We have been getting take out from Swagats in Beaverton on and off since we moved to the west side four years ago, taking us much further from NW 21st, but after the last few experiences have decided to drive back to their NW 21st location when we need a curry. Pros: The location on NW 21st and Lovejoy is better. Lunch Buffet may still be good, I haven't tried it in five years Cons: No quality control, are serving food that I am never hungry enough to eat. Long waits for bad food. more

Home Run! 5/6/2008

Well worth the drive for casual and moderately priced cusine. I was very surprised with satisfaction at the chutney that is served before you order: mint with yogurt, coconut and roasted seeds!! Those alone could have been my meal. Prices are in accordance with food proportions. I'll surly go back. more

Horrified!!! 7/20/2007

My friend and I meet up at this Swagat's probably once every two months. I had gotten my food from the buffet, sat down and started to eat. About 30 seconds into eating, I flipped over something that was in my curry and it turned out to be a Budweiser bottle cap! I brought this to the attention of the man that was poring water he looked at me and my friend and I said nothing, grabbed my plate and headed into the kitchen. more

Best deal in town 2/28/2007

Ok, keeping all things equal, Swagat's luncheon buffet is phenomenal. 18 course menu and everyitem is tasty. Just smorsh out on your favorites. Pros: great value - aromatic food Cons: service more

I like it :) 4/21/2003

I've been going for several years and enjoy it. I have only gone for the lunch buffet. I tend to only eat the same dishes each time. I highly recommend the Chicken Makhani. That is the best item on the menu and what keeps me coming back time after time. The tandori chicken is good also. Pros: Chicken Makhani more

Great Idli 9/23/2002

If you like South Indian food, there aren't too many places that offer it. The idlis and masala dosas are authentic. I also love the buffet. As a vegetarian, I can't comment on meat dishes, but the veggie dishes are all great. Pros: South Indian Food more

wheres the beef 8/15/2002

I ate there for the lunch buffet. I heard the pomp about the 16 items buffet, but really its not all that much bigger than some of the competition. Most of the dishes were veggies, and I wanted some good meat ones. The chicken curry is ok, once you get past the chunks of cartilage and the occasional bone. Grab a few extra oranges in case the water service misses your table. I would recommend this place for vegetarians, but carnivores like me are better of elsewhere. more

Good Food Quaint Atmosphere 8/9/2002

My family and I have always like Swagat. Food is great, service is average. It isn't a fancy restaurant and we don't complain about the atmosphere. It is a quaint little place and smells so good when you walk in. You have to be the open minded type to truely enjoy your dinner there. Pros: Good Priced, Taste Cons: Not enough parking more
