I came to Dr. Sutherland in bad shape from a severe accident, and although I had no coverage due to fighting with work comp (still fighting with the carrier 8 years later. Don't get hurt on the job in California. Arnold did you in!) he took care of my front teeth so that they wouldn't deteriorate while I tried to secure payment for services. My dear late Grandmother paid the down payment and went with me to the appointment at 94 years old, and his staff made her comfortable while I was in my appointment. Due to work comp hassles I have yet to even be able to pay him for the rest of his services and feel horrible, yet he had someone in his office offer me to come in for cleaning in the meantime if he had a cancellation. Torrance Dental Arts, Dr. Sutherland and his staff are wonderful people who have worked on and with me, even though it has been quite some time waiting for a settlement or a job to pay the balance. I see in his post-procedure offer to clean my teeth in the meantime the kind people that he and his office staff are. God willing, when I get settled out and can pay him I will surely return to Torrance Dental Arts and Dr. Sutherland as my Dr. of my teeth and gums. A very grateful patient more

I do find that I need to ask questions to be sure I understand what's up, but a patient has a responsibility to do that. The people there are all wonderful, caring and very efficient. I've gotten to look forward to visitng (and I used to HATE going to the dentist all my life!) more

The doctor was excellent. I’ll say this: I was impressed at the fact that so much work got done in one visit…that the crowns were made on-site and that they FIT, FIRST TIME! I also impressed at the doctors gentle approach to me, a new and somewhat hostile patient – she defused me very well. As long as you understand that I forthright and honest and expect to be dealt with in the same manner, we will be a good fit. You’ll see me back in January for the rest of my work. more

"I finally found a dentist that is up to date with the times. Why is it that every other dentist I went to seemed to come from the 1920's? This office has new technology and uses modern techniques. The doctor was very nice and thorough in his examination. The staff was friendly and answered all of my questions. The best thing was that I don't have a lot of time to take off work, so when my tooth broke and I needed to have it fixed they were able to fix it the same day! I didn't have to come back weeks later to get the crown finished like my last dentist. Now my mouth is all back in one piece. Thanks so much!" more

Everyone was friendly from the front desk to the Dental Assistant to Dr. Sutherland. I was promised this office would be gentle yet thorough, and they were right. Prices were not much higher than others, and financing was comfortable. I'm looking forward to my next appointment, and that say a lot for a person who fears Dental appointments. I'm not a real hi-tech kind of person, so when i first arrived, i was turned-off by all the TVs, computers, etc. But after being greeted by the front desk girl, offered water or coffee, and brought into the office quickly, I started feeling a little warmer about this place. They are pretty quick about doing things like taking xrays and picture-taking, etc., but Dr. Sutherland takes his time to answer questions and explain. I was a little shocked at what they all found, but most of it was my lack of dental care, and I'm paying the price for staying away from a dentist for 5 years! I was introduced to my hygienist and he's terrific. I will be bringing my husband here so that we all start coming to the same place." more
