Susie's Sunset Cafe

I went here on my lunch break along with three co-workers. We waited 45 minutes before we got our food. 4 other tables had come and gone before we received our food. When I expressed my concern to the owner she was very rude and told me to never come back! She also said that if they actually have to cook something that it takes longer! What kind of a restaurant doesn't cook? Also the server never told us that chicken fingers and fries would take and hour to make because their other food is in a steam table so they just scoop it out as it's ordered! When I go to a restaurant I want fresh food and I don't want it to take an hour! Avoid this place at all cost! McDonald's treat is customers way better than this hole in the wall dump! more

I like this restaurant because of the food they serve and the fact that everyone in Lafayette (the locals) like to eat & hangout here. I dislike the way it's laid out as far as the floor plan. The floor plan is cramped & tables are too close together in my opinion, but that's a minor problem. Prices are reasonable enough & the food is worth paying for. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner & all are pretty good. They have the typical meat & vegetables of the day choices or usual American food fare like burgers and fries. Desserts are also very good here, things like cobblers and pies. Sometimes you'll hit them on an off day and it will take a long time to receive the food you ordered. I guess it's okay though since this doesn't happen too often. more
