A true neighborhood institution...in a town overflowing with sushi restaurants, Sushiville stands out as the best tasting and friendliest place. They're also starting a $1.75 menu soon, with all color plates just $1.75 each--an amazing deal! My favorite place to go for lunch when I'm in NW Portland. more

My fave rave sushi-go-round venue in PDX....and to the reviewer that said ""conveyor train is so 80's"". pshaw. So much more fun and satifying to get to be adventurous trying new delights when you only have to commit to a small plate that will be, at most, $3.75! more

Tualatin Sushi Ville 11/23/2010

Ate at the Tualatin location. The prices were good, the service was so-so. The sushi seemed alright but I got extremely ill after eating there. I guess I should know better than to eat undercooked fish that comes around on a conveyor belt... more

Tualatin Shushi 5/13/2010

Some of these reviews I think are confusing Sushi TRAIN with Sushi VILLE. They are close to each other but Sushi TRAIN is west of I5 and Sushi VILLE is East of I5. Sushi train is cheaper and has a very cheap atmosphere and the sushi is ... well ... lower quality. Sushi VILLE has the same sushi that goes around on a conveyor but the restaurant is much nicer, cleaner, newer and the sushi is just very good and made from quality ingredients. Pros: Really good, quality sushi Cons: might be a tiny bit pricey but not really & worth it anyway more

Great for the money 11/30/2008

The food is very good, though the restaurant gets very busy and sometimes seems a bit understaffed. Try the asparagus rolls-- super good! Pros: food Cons: understaffed sometimes, parking can be iffy more

A great sushi joint! 11/12/2008

Excellent sushi at a great price. Japanese sushi chefs are friendly and glad to answer questions. They will make anything special for you on-the-spot. The ""Sushi-Go-Round"" is a fun experience. Beautiful wall murals and comfortable sushi-bar or booth seating. I frequent this business and it is usually busy with loyal customers. Pros: Excellent sushi, expert chefs, friendly staff, fun environment, reasonable prices Cons: Can be busy during lunch or dinner, but only because of the great food! more

Great service, better Sushi 7/2/2008

I've never before written on City Search, but liked Sushiville so much, that I wanted to write a review. Pros: Service, Ideal location, Fast Cons: Parking more

Good value but perhaps overrated here on citysearch 5/17/2008

First let me say that I enjoyed my visit here and would go again. The sushi is quite fresh and tasty and definitely reasonably priced. I still think it could and would be more fresh if it was made to order, but if you pick and choose and the place is busy (which it usually is) it's not at all bad and a great way to introduce someone new to sushi. Pros: Value Cons: Pretty average sushi more

Oishii desu ne? 4/7/2008

Stop #2 on the Udon and Roe show....our 2-man sushi review tour of PDX. This is by far, the #1 kaiten-zushi (sushi-go-round) restaurant I have dined at. Upon arrival, the attentive waiter must have noticed us eyeing the recently emptied booth (as it was very busy). He quickly had it cleared and seated us straight away. Instead of the typical dissappearing act that many servers at kaiten restaurants do, our waiter took our drink orders immediately (two 21oz kirins, foregoing the traditional sake bombs). Roe first grabbed for the salmon. If this did not pass his test the review would end after one plate. The freshness and buttery taste caused him to shriek with excitement like a 12 year old girl w/ front row seats to Hanna Montana. I, as usual, first tried the tamago (egg omelet) which is always a good indication of things to come. It was soft and sweet, not chewy at all, so I knew we'd be in for a decent sushi experience. The maguro was excellent, the rainbow roll was de-lish, and the seared ahi strips are a must have. The only disapointing items on the track were the Philly roll and a very bizzarre shrimp dumpling which required a large chug of Kirin to cleanse the palate. The sweet, steady, soundtrack of 1980's music made the dining experience that much more enjoyable...this would be a great place for Jake Ryan to take Samantha Baker for a date! There are many selections to try and everything we had was quite fresh. Sushiville is also a great value, as we devoured 20 plates and the bill was only $52 plus tip. Our satisfaction was evident (after 20 plates) as we waddled down Quimby street back to the ""Udon-Mobile"" so full, we weren't even thinking about what would be our next stop. Pros: yummy, quick, service, cheap, 80's music YAY! Cons: parking, other people's lack of enthusiasm for 80's music more

Simple Fresh Immediate Friendly Fun! 3/14/2008

Simply the best if you want inexpensive, quick, very fresh, perfect portions (not enormous pieces to make up for lack of quality, not small or skimpy either), and very friendly. Pros: simple & quality more

Best sushi, best service!! 10/5/2007

When you first walk into Sushiville on NW 23rd, the first thing you notice is the faint FRESH aroma of sushi and seafood. This is a good thing. I have been to other sushi places where the odor of Pine Sol and bleach just about knocked me over. The second thing you will notice at Sushiville is that no matter how busy it is, the staff will look up from what they are doing, smile, give you a warm hello and welcome you as if you were stopping by your Auntie Annamaria's. Sushiville features a conveyor belt of the freshest treats and covers all the taste bud yearns from sashimi to seared to teriyaki to dessert nummies. The tempuras are always warm and crunchy, the sashimis are always fresh and perfect and the wines and sakes are of the finest. Pros: EVERYTHING!!! Cons: Tends to get busy during peak dinner times, but isn't this a good sign?? more

Best sushi in town for your dollar!! 9/5/2007

I've been coming to sushiville for a few years now, and I must say it is still my favorite spot. There's always a great selection of sushi going around and the service is impecable. Not to forget the memorable 80's music while you eat, definitely a great place to bring your friends or family. Pros: Sushi's always fresh at peak hours. Cons: Sometimes a short wait when busy. more

Great sushi for the price 7/14/2007

I usually stay away from the conveyor sushi places - as the sushi is usually no where near as flavorful as what you can get in authentic Japanese restaurants. Sushiville is the exception. I was blown away by the quality of the sushi - a lot better than most other Japanese restaurants in Portland. Pros: Quality and Freshness for the value Cons: Very crowded; had to wait a long time to get the plate that I wanted more

Bland sushi 7/7/2007

I have been there 3 times over the past two years. It has never been better than mediocre. Bland sushi, small pieces. I ate there this afternoon. The maguro was mushy and the salmon was inordinately warm. I only went there because Saburos is closed all week. Pros: Nice servers Cons: the sushi more

where's the great service I've heard so much about? 6/21/2007

The atmosphere is obviously fun, and the good variety at great prices was a definite plus. However, the service that people on this site have been raving about did not exist. We arrived just before peak dinner hours on a Sunday afternoon and waiting 20 minutes for our table to be cleared. This was mildly annoying but wasn?t a problem. Our party of three was finally seated and promptly received our water and soup?without spoons. We also did not have a menu. Our Tina Fay wannabe waitress never returned. We finally waved over a much more attentive waiter and acquired the items we needed. It was extremely annoying to see our waitress assisting other parties, but blatantly ignoring ours. I?m not entirely sure what her problem was, but it certainly created a blemish on our dining experience. I might return for the atmosphere and food, but won?t be expecting the great service that I?ve heard so much about. I'm just glad we weren't depending on her to take our orders or bring our food. Pros: fun atmosphere, decent sushi, great prices Cons: service more

Shhh....Miso and Green Tea are free before 3pm.... 3/27/2007

I actually created an account on City Search just to rave about Sushiville! The salmon is always so fresh and the spicy tuna rolls are some of the best in town. Ask a server about the Mango Tempura; it will change your life. This place is great for sushi hogs like me and if I try really really hard I might spend $30 there. It's a simple place and I refuse to pay lots of money now for sushi now that I have Sushiville. Pros: Fresh, prompt, consistent, cheap, service Cons: Parking in NW sometimes more

Yummy Fast Sushi 2/20/2007

Sushi is one of our favorite meals, we usually eat at a sushi restaurant at least once a week. Normally if I want really good sushi, I go to one of the full service restaurants since the quality of the fish and the flavor is usually a little better. Sushiville has changed my opinion about fast sushi not being as good a quality as the full service restaurants. The Dragon Roll was exceptional ,as was the rest of the meal. Everything was fresh and the large variety of dishes available ensures you will always find something for everyone's taste. Service was friendly and the murals on the walls were wonderful. Excellent meal! Pros: Fresh good quality fish, wide range of dishes to choose from more

awesome 5/22/2006

i love this place its my favorite place to go and hangout with friends and eat!! i take my family friends and boyfriend they all love it!! everyweek i have new people coming to test it cause they like so much!! Pros: the food, the people, the enviroment Cons: some of the cooks are, werid. sorry but its , the truth more

My favorite weekend stop... 4/9/2006

I love Sushiville, if I could be a Sushiville cheerleader I would...The sushi is always fresh and has a great flavor, and the service is phenominal, my boyfriend and I always have great conversations with the friendly servers. Also the restaurant is clean, has unique decor (not cheesy oriental). One of the other things I really like is that the owner is almost always there checking over everything, he's super nice and stops by the customers often to ask how they are doing. I highly recommend this Sushiville to everyone! Ooh and they have a discount card, if you spend a certain amount you get $10 off! Pros: The sushi, service, atmosphere Cons: parking more
