V. Impressive sake menu, and the sushi is very fresh. The ""kobe"" style beef wasn't really Kobe style - and the Kabuto was so-so. I will echo others who have noted the lame service. Our waiter forgot more than one item on our menu and didn't even seem to notice or care. Its a tad overrpriced - but you'll save a little on the tip. Stick to the Sushi. Pros: sake wa tsuyoi, hamachi Cons: teinei wa yowai, kobebifu more

Nice Food, Bad Service 12/14/2002

If you are a (affluent) regular, they are nice to you. If you are new they can be quite rude. We waited along time for our food to arrive but my husband loved it, thought it was the best ever. I wasn't that thrilled. For the price you dont get what you pay for. You can get sushi for far less that's equal or better and they aren't so snooty about serving you. I love this place. The sushi is excellent. The atmosphere is great. Ashi on tap!!! What more could you ask for. Oh, and they have a wine bar next door where you can wait for your table. more

Best Sushi in Marin 8/1/2002

Sushi Ran is a delight - the sushi is fresh and artistically presented, with a wide variety of regular and daily selections. They have an excellent wine and sake list, and the ambience is great - cozy, with lots of light and a Japanese tea room-feel. more

Outstanding 7/22/2002

Well worth the drive over the bridge. The food was incredible; above and beyond sushi, and the service was very friendly and knowledgeable with both food and wine. I would highly reccomend it to anyone who likes sushi or appreciates a great dining experience. more
