Sushi on Sunset (LA) presents the brainchild of restaurateurs Mr. Andr'e Bachtiari known as Business man of the year by the Wall street Journal and yet known as a great film producer along with Mr. Marco Derhy. Pros: Great Sushi/ Great Service/Great location & Ambiance:) Cons: Food/Drinks:) more

Hollywood Drinks 3/23/2009

The night I went they must have been throwing some sort of event, because fonzworth bentley was rockin his teacup amongst other notable figures. I guess that really helped the vibe, but I think the atmosphere in general was great. Reasonably priced tasty sushi, love the cocktails. Pros: Vibe, drinks and sushi Cons: I hate parking more

In Love with this Sushi! 3/12/2009

By far some of the best Sushi I've ever had and the prices were totally reasonable! My only issue, with any place on Sunset, Parking is just so hard! But valet wasn't too expensive. The food made it all worth it!!! If you want an inexpensive dinner out, this is great. Pros: Great food, Great prices more

Great service and excellent food 12/13/2008

From the edamame to the Chinese churros and everything in between, Sushi on Sunset serves delicious food with excellent service at great prices. Dining here makes for the rare affordable night on the Strip and you will not go home dissatisfied or hungry. The staff was extremely courteous and the food was fresh and without compare, especially when you consider how easily some ""sushi"" restaurants fall short. Even if Hollywood is not your typical stomping grounds, a trip to Sushi on Sunset is one you will be grateful you made. more

BEST SUSHI AND DESSERTS OUT IN LA 12/5/2008

Sushi On Sunset was amazing the staff was incredible the sushi was fresh , the menu selection is unlike no other sushi places, and the desserts are to die for the whole atmosphere of the place was something you want to experience YOU DEF HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE OUT more

Great not just good sushi 12/4/2008

Chef Tetsu presented our table of 11 with dish after dish of perfectly prepared and presented sushi. Our guests from Japan were suitably impressed... then they nearly fell over when Mr. Billy Dee Williams was seated next to us. I guess Lando Calrissian is still a big deal. Pros: Surprise celeb appearance, chill vibe, pretty patrons Cons: Not the filthy S.O.S. of memories, no coke, no couches, no sticky concrete more

Not impressed. 11/17/2008

I found this place to be VERY overpriced for the quality of food. The sushi was just ok, the rolls were average and the appetizers were really not good. It was very mediocre compared to other trendy sushi restaurants in that price range. If you want to spend the same amount of money and get a much better dining experience, go to Koi, Katana, or even Katsuya Hollywood is 10x better. Very disappointed! Pros: location, ambiance Cons: food more

WOW! 10/11/2008

What's the difference between the sushi I had last night... and the girl I had last night???? Pros: Great Sushi... Great Service!!! more

Welcome Back 10/10/2008

I used to go into the old Sushi and Sunset and get hammered, they used to serve me even though I was not 21, fast forward to the grand opening and 20 yrs later, this place is awesome. The food the chicks and the drinks are great. I am not sure about the guy who dances around in his karate suit, but the rest of the place was great. I think I might go back again this weekend. CHeck it out you will not be disappointed. Pros: hot food was great and sake Cons: parking was problematic so valet more

MY NEW FAVORITE SUSHI SPOT!! 10/10/2008

I fell in love after my first visit! The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning! from the hard wood floors to the jade rock walls. The wait staff and owner/manager are amazing- service was excellent and they all had a great attitude. Now, let me get to the food. Since my first visit....I crave the kobe beef skewers! I don't know what they put in that sauce but it's addicting. The firecracker chicken is amazing along with the sushi rolls they have to offer. more

My new Sunset spot! 9/15/2008

I was invited to Sushi on Sunset East/West Fusion's grand opening, and was hooked! The space is beautiful and there was an electric feel in the air. There were Sumo wrestlers on the red carpet, tray passing featuring sushi, rolls and other fusion dishes including Firecracker chicken and Kobe Satays. I made reservations the next day for later that week. Pros: Menu selection and diversity, taste, presentation, ambience more

Good if you're drunk!! 8/14/2004

If you're drunk and hungry and walking distance from a local bar (don't drive, because on Sunset Blvd. at prime time you're not gonna find parking!) This is o.k., it's a got nice cozy feel to it, after all you're in front of Sunset Blvd. But as far as food...I don't recommend it (1st and last visit was 1995). Pros: Area more

fun 8/3/2003

take some loud red hot chili peppers, small candles in a dark atmosphere, and attractive waitresses with attitude, and you have sushi on sunset. the sushi is standard and the fried ice cream dessert is sublime. i only listed valet parking as a con because i prefer free self parking. Pros: fun, dark Cons: valet parking more

love this place 1/13/2003

good place for a romantic time :) everyone should try this place once... more

Divey but Great Food 6/18/2002

From the outside Sushi on Sunset looks a bit like a dive, but once inside your attitude changes a bit. The music is good (and loud) and the sushi is terrific. The miso soup was great-plenty of tofu and seaweed and all of the fish I had was really fresh. The sushi chef was friendly and very professional; the rest of the staff...your typical young, don't-want-to-be-bothered crew. But you get over that once you eat the food. more

Have Another Sake Bomb 6/12/2002

Everytime I come here, I leave with my vision a little fuzzier than when I arrived. If you make a reservation, the wait isn't so bad. The sushi is excellent and maybe a little pricey. What the staff is really good at though, is keeping the sake and the Asahi flowing. more

Initimate setting, and great sushi 5/20/2002

This is the date place to go, that being if your date likes sushi. Dark and cozy setting in one of LA's hottest streets lined with clubs and bars within walking distance. The waitstaff at Sushi on Sunset are very attentive and on the ball. The sushi was delicate and flavorful. The whole atmosphere is relaxing, no one rushes your order, nor do they rush you out the door. I highly recommend this place. Pros: Service, Food, Location Cons: none. more
