Two timing tuna roll was suggested by the waitress and it was great! The tempura flakes give the roll a crunchiness that is unusual and delightful! The peach Bubble Tea was a different departure from my usual h2o. more

I ordered an unajyu (eel) for take out and the thing was full of tiny bones. I would not get the eel I cannot comment on any other sushi. But I can tell you I will never go here again. more

the only benefit of this place is the bento box during lunch. the sushi is just okay. if you are going to put "sushi" in the name of your restaurant, said sushi should be excellent. izakaya is right around the corner and it is cheaper and the sushi is 10 times better more

This is a great sushi place for anytime. The bottom line is - reasonably priced fresh sushi, decent service, and a great ambience. My husband and I always order two rolls, two appetizers and one dessert, but the bill is never higher than $40.00. \r \r We are regulars of all three Sushi Maki's, but the Coral Gables is our favorite. You must try the hot chocolate souffle with green tea ice cream. more

Good Sushi---Good Price 4/9/2009

You know you're in trouble when you're at an Asian restaurant and the wait staff is not Asian. This place is decent but I had to stop going to this location bec. the wait staff and service were just too poor. Try the one in South Miami at Sunset if you must have this sushi restaurant. Favs Tuna salad, pork shumai Pros: Good Sushi---Good Price Cons: Wait Staff at Ponce Location terrible!!! more

Oh my goodness I can 100% tell you that is is the best place to get sushi. I walked in and the set up of the restaraunt was so urban and very calm and that's what I like to find in a restaraunt. The service it also wonderful. When they brought me my sushi I was so excited and they make big pieces so it is worth the money. I recommend everyone who enjoys sushi to try Sushi Maki ! :D more

I should have known better. As soon as I walked in, I noticed that the restaurant smelled like a fishy bait shop. Not. A good thing for a sushi restaurant. When my food came, it was equally unappetizing. I recommend you to get your sushi fix elsewhere. more

Great sushi! 5/6/2008

Great sushi for dine in or they also do take out (and delivery if you live in a 5 block radius). Ask to hear the specials and plan to share lots of things instead of ordering your own. Service varies and during peak hours you'll feel a little rushed. more

Worst Service Ever!! 2/14/2006

I choose this restaurant to take my date on valentines day, I have never had such a bad experience in a restaurant. i was promptly seated, however it took twenty minutes to have a waitress come and ask if anyone had take care of us. Right after, there was another waitress who attempted to take our order but how was I suppose to order if I had no menu????. Then he provided us with the menu in a very RUDE way, he threw the menus on the table. So I decided I got up and left the place. more

VERY GOOD FOOD AT A GREAT PRICE 1/9/2006

The sushi was grade A quality, but the star of my lunch was the sunomono.(octopus salad) It was served in a martini glass with hair thin carrots and small pieces of lettuce in a tangy vinegarette. Outstanding! I also had some cold sake, which is always nice after a roll and some salad. Two thumbs up! i dont know what the person above me was talking about...but Sushi maki coral Gables...had great service and i had a great and friendly waiter. If you're impatient this is not the place for you, because this place gets packed! but for all the good reasons. Prompt seating, great food, and the dessert was tasty. i did not have to ask repeatedly for refills, and the mood was classy and elegant. Not to mention that the sushi was fresh and nicely presented. good location no service low to average food 6/3/2005

My fiancee and I wanted to eat sushi. We use the msn guide all the time. Maki was the top one on the list so we figured we'd give it a shot. Location nice in Miracle Mile. We literally had to walk to the cashier (right in front of the entrance) to ask if there was a hostess or self seating. They did not understand but she grabbed some menus and brought us to our table. Appetizers were frozen and cooked. Soy sauce horrid. Sushi good quality but bad flavor (Iguess the spices or sauces they use). My fiancee had to get up twice to request a refill of his drinks when there were hardly any customers dining there. So it wasnt because they were busy... VERY VERY BAD SERVICE. Pricing average. Pros: price, good quality sushi Cons: service, flavor, frozen cooked chicken more
