Great sushi bad bad bad & rude service. 2/14/2012

Sushi is one of the best in Columbus next to Sushi En. The service here is horrible. The waitress refilled my drink after several times asking, with water (I had sprite). When asked to return it she said I just refilled it. I tried to explain and she got all mad. Finally after getting new drink I was content to just eat my sushi and get the bill. After paying the bill and only leaving a 3 dollar tip I started to exit the fron door. The waitress came running after me and said you did not leave the right amount for tip. WHAT??? I stared at her in disbelief. Not only do you get upset to get me a drink you are now embarrising me to say I didn't leave enough in a tip for you. She stood there and said that my bill way 32 dollars and that I should leave her at least 7 dollars in a tip. I told her no way and continued to leave. I don't think I will be visiting there for a while. I used to go at least once a week. Not anymore. more

I Love This Place! 3/13/2010

Quasi-famous people know that this is the best sushi restaurant in Ohio! The Ichiban is number one and the fried sushi is spectacular. The super crunchy roll is super special. Don't forget to have a drink with Kim and Kim the sushi chefs! Many different types of sake are available for consumption. Try them all! (pick a hotel close by) Pros: Best sushi and sushi chefs Cons: not free more

Amazing sushi 8/17/2009

As the reviews here can attest, the food at Sushi Ko is amazing. Never having written a review of *any* restaurant before, I still felt the need to add my thumbs up for Sushi Ko. My husband had a craving for sushi and wanted to go to Benihana for the ""endless sushi"" special. Not being a big Benihana fan, I decided to search for something a little different. I found the reviews for Sushi Ko and figured it was worth a try. So we checked it out this evening. We shared three different rolls and each was really tasty and satisfying. The service was a bit chill, but we appreciated the relaxed environment and when our food arrived it was clear how much work went into preparing it. We will definitely be going back - soon!! Benihana cannot begin to compare. Plus, we both left with bellies full of sushi for less $ than we would have spent on the sub-par stuff elsewhere. Pros: incredibly tasty food, relaxed enviornment more

Hands down the Best Sushi in Columbus, Ohio 2/9/2009

I love sushi and I mean ""I really, really love sushi"". There are times that I have eaten it for 2 weeks straight and this is by far the best sushi in Columbus. I have enjoyed sushi all over the world, including DC, NY, LA, Vegas, London, Australia, and even Japan in my travels and Sushi KO remains in the top 10 of my list. The rolls are always amazing, whether you enjoy the traditional (Negi-Hama) or the Americanized (Ninja or Sunday Morning Rolls), you will never be disappointed. The fish is always fresh and the value for the money is always there. I always get wonderful service from the owner and eat here at least once a week when I am not traveling.\r \r As no place is ever perfect, I would also like to comment about some of the reviews referencing the customer service received. As much as I love this place and have been eating here for over 5 years, the service does leave one wanting at times. I too have suffered from the lack of urgency or friendliness shown by the wait staff (the guys behind the bar have always been amazing, I sit here as often as possible and always leave happy). On a positive note, I will say that this has changed over the last several months and the service has greatly improved. Also remember that good sushi is an art, if the restaurant is crowded, it may take some time to get your sushi bar items.\r \r Overall the food is absolutely amazing and the service behind the bar is incredible. The specialty rolls, soup, tempura, and salads are awesome. The nigiri is always fresh and the sashimi is perfectly prepared. Finally, the value for the money is unbeatable as the rice/fish ratio is amazing. Trust me when I say give it a try, you won't regret it. Pros: The Food, The Owner, The Quality Cons: Wait staff (at times) more

Great Food, Horrible Service 1/24/2009

The sushi was great but the service was possibly the worst I have ever had. We were there for over an hour before our food came. We asked for re-fills and never got them. I don't know if the food was good enough to ignore the service. Pros: Great sushi Cons: Horrible Service more

Best sushi in I've had yet 8/21/2008

In June a large group of us were in town for a baseball tournament. We all loved sushi and each had dining experiences from all over the country. We decided to give Sushi-ko a try. We found the sushi to be the best anywhere. No one in our large party was disappointed. I still crave their Cherry Blossom Roll and am making a special trip across state to dine there again. Like most sushi places in Ohio - Sushi-ko is not known for their over-the-top glamorous dining experience. But if you want quality sushi, that is well prepared, delicious and different than the usual California Roll- this place is a ""must visit"". We thought the service was very good considering the size of our party - the number of children they had to serve and the fact that members of the party were coming and going at different times. Always a smile and always eager to serve. Pros: Great food, beautifully prepared Cons: Average ambience more

You will love it! 4/2/2008

Sushi Ko is the best sushi restaurant in town! The sushi is fresh and delicious, and so is everything else on the menu. The service is fast, the dining room is comfortable, and the chefs are pleasant. Great for a date if you want to have nice dinner with drinks from the bar, then walk to the movie theater next door. I try to go here once a week; it's the BEST! Pros: sushi more

Amazing Sushi 2/4/2008

Sushi KO is an experience that I look forward to everytime that I plan on going. It's a bit out of the way for me, but that doesn't bother me one bit. The service has been fine everytime that I have gone, and the food has always been excellent. One of the last times that I went, the regular tables were full, so I was seated at one of the low tables, and I might have had an even better time [just make sure to take off your shoes ;-) ]\r \r Sushi KO is a fun place to go, and is great for a casual dinner with friends or a date. If you have ever wanted to try sushi at an authentic restaurant, head over to Sushi KO and give it a try. The food is a little expensive when compared to, say, Outback or Applebees, but it's fresh sushi in Ohio and absolutely delicious.\r \r Try the eel. And the octopus. Simply amazing. more

Great sushi! 9/3/2007

There are 2 kinds of sushi, the good kind, and the bad kind! I really enjoy this sushi restaurant. Every time I go there, the people are friendly and the food is good! Its a bit expensive for an everyday kind of thing, but you dont want to be cheap when it comes to food like this. For sushi, it is reasonably priced and I definately recommend it to people who like, or want to try sushi! Pros: Nice atmosphere, great, fresh tasting sushi! Cons: None really! It is a good place! more

BEST SUSHI IN COLUMBUS!!! 7/28/2007

We love Sushiko. I usually get the seaweed salad, caterpillar (a special spicy tuna roll with avocado on top), and spicy salmon roll - oh, and miso soup! (my sister and I usually share all that) I disagree with the other reviewer about the atmosphere - they have a really cool entry-way (stone floor) and they have a section where you can sit at low tables on low chairs (or maybe cushions?) But you can also sit at normal tables or at the bar. If you get carry-out, make sure they give you enough chopsticks - we are usually short a pair or two and I think it's a sin to eat sushi with a fork! I used to eat lunch here all the time and get the lunch special, which is an assortment of sushi chosen by the chef. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Sushiko is located just north of 270 on 23 - near the crosswoods movie theaters. Go! more

SushiKO 3/28/2006

I have enjoyed the sushi at Sushiko many times and it has not disappointed yet. Sushi always seems fresh and tasty. I will recommend Sushiko to my friends and family. Pros: sushi more

Needs more character 3/30/2004

Although I've been to Sushi KO a few times, its mainly because they have a convenient location to me...I find the prices to be high and I always get take out because I find the dining room to be lacking character, which is something I look for when eating Sushi. Pros: location, fresh Cons: , no ambiance more

charming and authentic 2/23/2004

I have been yo Sushi KO several times and have found it to be a delight each time. The sushi is fantastic and the service excellent. This is a great place to go for a quiet lunch or dinner. It is a small restaurant but comfy and inviting. I highly recommend! Pros: quiet, excellent food, great service Cons: , TV in main dining, limited seating more

sushi lover 1/18/2004

We went to Sushi Ko twice for lunch. Both times we were the only ones in the restaurant. We got there right at opening time and there were at least 4 employees there. They were more conerned with stocking packages than they were about us. Both times we had to let the waitress/cashier know we were ready to order. We never got received refills of tea or water and we had to let her know we wanted our checks. She seemed upset we interrupted her from her magazine. The food was great though which makes it a disappointment that we will never go back. Pros: not crowded, great food Cons: horrible service more
