Sushi, Tempura and More! 11/12/2011

I became a regular customer of Sushi Cafe because of their delectable sushi and tempura. Their tempura and sushi taste good. Their both heavenly delicious. Its flavor are just right and I can really say that their tempura and sushi are more delicious as compared to their competitors. I also like their sashimi and their rolls, its beyond delicious. They always serve it fresh, which I like. Prices of their menus are quite reasonable. At Sushi Cafe, you get what you pay for. More than their great food, Sushi Cafe has top-notch customer service and excellent servers too. All their employees are nice and accommodating. Love Sushi, go to Sushi Cafe! more

Very Good Sushi , for Sacramento anyway 12/29/2008

We've tried many of the local Sushi places, including most of the trendy downtown and midtown places. While none of the Sushi places in Sac compare to the better places in the City, my opinion is that Sushi Cafe has the best Sushi overall near downtown and midtown Sac. Don't let the lame name of the restaurant fool you - the sashimi and rolls always seem to taste fresh, well put together and tasty, and the atmosphere is relatively fun and lively. The service is definitely spotty, as I believe one of the other reviewers mentioned, but if it is primarily the food you are interested in, Sushi Cafe is a good bet in the downtown/midtown area IMHO. more

This is a sad excuse for good Japanese food 12/22/2008

I've had good Japanese food before, and this is not it. Most of the food lacks flavor and the meats are really not very good quality.\r \r A lot of people like it, and I'm still wondering why. I suppose the sushi is okay, but it is WAY too expensive for the quality.\r \r If you're looking for good Japanese food, you'd be better off going somewhere else. more

cute restaurant 10/30/2008

this place has a nice atmostphere and the food is decent. the servers and hosts are all really friendly and nice. The place is sort of small so it isnt a good place to eat if you have a big crowd but overall the experience was nice. more

i was skeptical going in but once our food arrived, i was blown away. very fresh fish, very quick service, and did i mention fresh fish? started with a few light rolls then jumped into some sashimis. amber jack and super white tuna were great. go check it out. very affordable. the two of us left full and for under $50. dont go to kamon. more

excellent food 2/4/2006

the service is considerably good, the food is awesome...especially for its price, and for students at the local college or high school, it's at a convenient location more

Talk about a best kept secret! 12/21/2005

I love Sushi. Everywhere I travel, I make it a point to research the best sushi places in town and stop by while I'm there. Having recently moved to Sacramento, I stopped by Sushi Cafe simply because it was close to my home. Not expecting anything special, I was very pleasantly surprised! The staff was extremely friendly (especially Brian behind the sushi bar) and seemed to know everyone that walked in the door by name. The quality of the sushi was about a half a point below the best I've ever had (on a scale of ten). To get better sushi, you'd have to pay three to four times as much and go to NYC or Japan. I would recommend this place to anyone and I will be back often! Pros: Friendly service, Quality of Sushi, Value Cons: Small dining area, Can get busy more

Sushi Cafe is the absolute best! The atmosphere is great. The employees are very nice and friendly. There are always people there to run into. The food is amazing especialy the espquire roll (my favorite!). It is a great place for a date, met with friends, or to stop in and grab a bite and run into people you know, who knows where the night will after that. beware, it can get crowed. more
