Ichiban doesn't have the most overwhelming decor, but thats fine, because the focus is completely on the food and the service.
The quality of the fish is better than any of the 'trendy' spots I've been to in the East Bay. Flavors are excellent and textures are all distinct and refined.
Service was exceptional, and the prices were lower than most in the area. If your focus is on food, service and sharing it all with friends than this is the place for you. If your trying to impress someone with flash and decor and want to pay more try Kirala a mile or so down the street.
