Absolutely fabulous! Delivery was 10 minutes earlier than stated. The gyoza and miso soup were among the best I've ever had, California rolls were great, and the chicken teriyaki and the shrimp and vegetable tempura were fantastic! more

Yummy 12/15/2007

This week I am on a sushi kick. I had a lackluster experience with Yoshi's so I decided to try another Oakland sushi spot. Enter Ichi ban on Lake Park. They deliver. The sushi is fresh. The sushi is FULL of flavor. The sushi is reasonably priced. I cannot complain about my experience, as it was wonderful. The driver showed up when they said he would and he was very pleasant. Before I take off, I will be ordering from Ichiban again!\r \r The only reason that it gets 4 stars is that you can't have sushi sitting down at the restaurant. It is take out or delivery only.\r \r Try it. You'll like it. Pros: Good food & they deliver! Cons: Can't eat at restaurant. more

Good overall 5/8/2005

I went during lunch time and the wait was about an hour. There seems to be very few waiters/waitresses available and they were not prompt. I can recommend the food but the rolls are not the best I have tasted. Pros: Environment Cons: Long wait, Few Waiters more

Focus on Food 6/20/2003

Ichiban doesn't have the most overwhelming decor, but thats fine, because the focus is completely on the food and the service. The quality of the fish is better than any of the 'trendy' spots I've been to in the East Bay. Flavors are excellent and textures are all distinct and refined. Service was exceptional, and the prices were lower than most in the area. If your focus is on food, service and sharing it all with friends than this is the place for you. If your trying to impress someone with flash and decor and want to pay more try Kirala a mile or so down the street.
