Of course in the summer time, there is going to be a long wait, but I have to tell you it is worth it. The building is pretty small, but who cares!! You are there for the great food. Just this summer while I was waiting to be seated, a couple walked in after my boyfriend and I. The couple was aggrevated that there was a wait at Sushi 1. They decided to leave and go to Tony's ( also located in Westhampton Beach) claiming that it was just as good. I laughed. I've been to Tony's before ONLY because Sushi 1 isn't open on Mondays. Tony's has the same stuff on their menu as every other sushi restaurant. What is so great about Sushi 1 is that there are things that they offer that you can't find anywhere else. Some of my favorites not on the menu are the Kaniko salad and the sauteed soft shell crab. The crab can be an appetizer or meal. I also love the spicy yellowtail roll and the sauteed scallops (both are currently on the menu)/ The staff is friendly and courteous and offer up great suggestions on what to order when you can't seem to make up your mind. Some days in the winter time, they offer free sake (if you spend at least $20 per person). I used to work at the Westhampton Country Club, and we were always hiring Kimi and his wife (the owners) to come in and set up a sushi bar for parties and even some weddings held at the club. Give Sushi 1 a try....I promise you will love it. The great food and service will keep you coming back for more.
Pros: fresh food and friendly waitstaff. I eat there enough, that they sometimes even remember what I order
Cons: sometimes a long line..but you can order it to go. Also, not a very big partking lot, but you can park along the street
