Editorial review from Citysearch 10/22/2012

I will never ever try to give them any business ever again. I just too one of my little black flats to have the sole repaired. The front of it had come apart. I expected them to put some kind of adhesive on it, charge me a couple dollars and send me on my way. Since it was only one shoe, I was shocked when the man came back to me and said $12!!?!?!?! Seriously? I didn't pay $12 for the shoes, but I loved them. I went to the dollar store, bought rubber cement, came back to work and used clamps to hold the two pieces together after applying the cement. Problem solved and they lost what could have been a good customer with their greed! more

the work has gotten a bit sloppy at times - heel taps mis-aligned, string to new soles exposed. \r it depends on who is working the machine.\r don't challenge the owner on quality control or else his seemingly humble personality will go ballastic. more

Trusted them with my Christian Louboutins! 11/4/2011

After reading reviews extensively, I decided to get the red Vibram rubber soles on my Christian Louboutin pumps since I wore them once and they were already looking a little rough on the bottom. This place is amazing. Everyone in there is so friendly and helpful. I dropped them off Friday afternoon and they were ready Monday! As to anyone wondering about the Vibram soles, do it!! To quote the owner of Superior Shoe Repair; ""Smart girl get this put on first."" more

My chewed up Louboutins 4/19/2011

After readind the previous review above, I hope this shoe repair can help me! My 4 month old Teddy Bear puppy chewed the side and platform tip of my favorite louboutins that I was going to wear to my bday party Saturday. Hopefully they can restore them to good as new... But I will give this place a try since the review above turned out positive! more

Trust Your Shoes With Them... You Won't Regret It! 1/13/2010

This place is my savior. After taking a pair of gray Christian Louboutins to Dom's Shoe Repair at 20th + Sansom to get dyed black, my shoes came back in a horrible state. Horrible might be an understatement. Uneven dye job, and worst of all: black dye all on the inside of the shoe and all over the red soles. I might as well have just dunked the whole thing in a tub of paint myself. I had gone to Superior Shoe Repair before so I rushed over to them in tears to see if they could save my Louboutins. They are a bit more pricey than other shoe places I've gone to, but so worth it. They are friendly and FAST. My shoes came back perfect after only 2 days, unlikely the 2 weeks it took Dom's to butcher my shoes. They are not as good as new, because Dom's left them in such a morbid state, but they are good, considering that. The whole shoe had to be redyed and the soles had to be repainted red because of all the black dye that was on them. They even had to clean out the toe box because there was black dye all inside. I will never take my shoes to anyone else but Superior Shoe Repair ever again. Pros: quality work, fast, and friendly more

Amazing! 7/12/2008

I have a wedding coming up at the end of the month and I planned to wear my favorite pair of heels with my dress...except for the fact that the shoes were in pretty bad shape. They're champagne-colored satin and they were extremely dirty, marks everywhere, heels worn down, some of the fabric coming off the inside of the heel. Both my mother and my grandmother had suggested they were hopeless and I should just throw them out, and everyone was skeptical that anything could be done for them. Well, with them being my favorite pair of shoes I was determined to exhaust every option before giving up, so after taking them to the local dry-cleaner's failed I decided to try Superior Shoe Repair. I asked the man behind the counter to do everything he could for them, and when I came back two days later I couldn't believe it! They looked nearly as good as new, the fabric in place, all the dirt gone (a feat considering they're so light-colored to begin with), new heels - and all for only $19! In two days they literally saved my shoes, and you can bet I'll be going back for any other shoes that need the help! Pros: They can save your most woebegone shoes! Cons: None! more

Price Discrepancy 6/12/2008

I have no service or quality rating to offer, only the facts regarding price. \r \r I took a pair of shoes that required a thorough cleeaning/shining and two half soles. Asking price was $57. I took the same pair to the shoe place on 17th, right before Chestnut on the Market Street side (across from The Westin). Asking price was $40. \r \r Both are high, in my opinion, but a 42% discrepancy is ludicrous. more

Great service! 1/5/2008

I came back from vacation and I realized that I had ruined my favorite pair of sandals. I was pretty desperate and through a friend I heard of this shoe repair store. So, I tried it out. The man wasn't overly friendly, but seemed to understand the importance of these shoes to me. He told me that it would cost $35 to fix. After a couple of days, I came back and he showed me the shoes and they looked brand new. I was so excited and I've been going there ever since. Funny thing is, he's really nice to me now and last time he gave me a discount on fixing my shoes. more

Stilettos not welcome.... men's shoes only. 1/25/2007

I found Superior Shoe Repair listed on Lucky Magazine's website for ""Fashion Emergencies"", so I thought I would try them out. I had a pair of high heel pointy-toed pumps that needed their soles to be reinforced/rubberized (the part of the sole at the tip had worn down a little, but was not bad at all). I have gotten these fixed at a mall shoe repair place for like $10... not a big deal. I also had a pair of sandals that needed new elastics for the straps.... also not a big deal at all. Or so I thought!!! I was very polite as I pulled my shoes out and explained what I wanted done. The man was very, very rude and acted like this would be some kindof serious shoe operation for both pairs... and he told me it would be $40 for each! I am not cheap but these were easy repairs and I found this insane. He had a huge attitude as if I should not be fixing them at all, or that he couldn't be bothered with this... like it was the rubix cube of shoes. It was really, really weird. I was polite the whole time, and when I asked nicely why it would cost that much, he got super flustered and waved his hands and said ""take it somewhere else then""! \r I bet this shop is great for men's shoes..... but beware ladies! Just go to Rossi's instead. Pros: Shoe shine for men, probably great for men's shoes. Cons: Can't do easy repairs for women's shoes. Mean! more
