This shop was the 3rd I called while pricing out a windshield for my '99 Acura TL. The 1st shop was a place that did glass for one of my other cars (a job done perfectly, with glass and molding done to factory spec), the 2nd was a shop listed pretty well in reviews, and the 3rd was this shop, quite highly rated on here! When I called, the owner asked me the prices I've been quoted so far, and upon stating what I've heard he beat it by a few bucks tax incl. So far, this is working out, so I set my appt. for the next weekend. I arrived, they got started, and while they had my car I decided to have them do the tint too. Up to this point we're doing great. I get back a little early, and upon arrival the owner tells me that the clip to my rear-view windshield broke off and now they are attempting to GLUE MY REAR-VIEW MIRROR back to the new windshield. This is a safety part, being glued to my car! So, they've got my mirror actually duct-taped while the glue cures. I sit back down while until they're done. Before leaving I inspect the car, and notice right away the tint job isn't so hot. Also my mirror is barely functional, and the rear brake light cut-out looks like it was done poorly as well. I can't inspect the rest because the windshield molding is taped off, not to be exposed for 24 hours. I get home (rear-view mirror wobbling like mad.) Next day, about 26 hours after, I pulled the tape off and inspected their work. Immediately I notice the excess adhesive, exposed glass edges, lifted molding, and disconnected molding at various places all around. Things that Acura doesn't glue are glued now, with sloppy adhesive in places it shouldn't be, including MY PAINT. The tint isn't so great either, but tint takes a while to cure and clear up so I let that pass. On to Monday I call the owner and let him know I'm displeased. He says to drop by anytime before 5 any day, and he'll fix it right up. I work 8-5 M-F like a lot of folks, so I tell him that to do so might be a little tricky but I'll do what I can. I manage to get off work a little early, and rush to the shop (bout 15 miles away) about 10 minutes before 5. Doors are closed, shop is all shut up. I get back home (another 18 miles away), give the shop a call the next day, and ask whether they will actually be open until 5 the next time I attempt to visit the shop. I gave it another shot, getting off work early a couple days later and get to the shop (another 15 miles away), meet the owner's son, and this time tell them to keep the car until it is fixed while I drive one of my other cars. Not once do they call me mind you. I call Friday, and confirm we are good to go. I arrive Saturday as planned and pick up the car. The work on the windshield? Marginal improvement, still sloppy, still sub-standard. The mirror is still wobbly, though I told them to fix it right. I let the shop owner know I am still displeased. With my wife as my witness, I promise you this is what happened, "Well from the sound of it over the phone, you were more concerned with price than with quality. If you want better quality, you have to pay $100 more to get it." His excuse was the molding was reused rather than replaced. Keep in mind at no point in our transaction was there a discussion about replacing the molding! Lesson learned, you should avoid this shop and keep looking. I'm going to have shop #1 do it all over when I get a chance to, right now it is pretty embarrassing to look at an Acura w/ horrible workmanship done to it. Still have to fix the rear-view mirror as well!
