I first discovered Super Mex in 1979 (the original, downtown LB location) and was instantly hooked! I had a Super Mex burrito with chunks of beef, rice, beans, lettuce, cheese, sauce and guacamole on top for about $3.50 (they're about $7.00 now). I am a big eater and could barely finish it! The original restaurant has since branched out into a chain, and with the opening of each new restaurant the food has been consistently the same, excellent!!! No item on the menu is over $8.00, even for full meals with rice and beans (my favorite now is the #11: Carnitas, rice, beans and tortillas). The portions are filling and the food consistently delicious, you won't be disappointed! A word of caution: the salsa is flavorful, but very spicy! (they may have a milder version that I'm not aware of - keep the ""regular"" salsa coming for me!)
Pros: Great food, Resonably inexpensive, consistent quality
Cons: crowded
