Sunset Grille & Raw Bar

I am from Duck North Carolina, and just graduated from UNC. This place is always a highlight when I come home! The enviroment is awesome and the whole staff is super friendly all the time! Me and my fiance love it here, and always make sure we bring our friends here when they come to visit us! Great food at lunch and dinner, great sound view on the Currituck Sound (nice for tourists and friends of ours) And a very fun night spot all wrapped into one! When im here i feel like im in Margaritaville, and its always 5! Steamed seafood platters are awesome here (im a local i know) The mahi mahi sandwich is also a favorite of mine, and the old bay seasoned fries. And a tip for the New Yorker dont visit a place and sit at a bar if you dont want to be treated like you are at home, proper bar manners would have been to remove the money from the bar, unless its a tip. The bartender must keep his bar clean, so please dont put down something awesome in my home town when you didnt use proper manners! COME VISIT THIS PLACE YOU WILL LOVE IT! My family and I just returned from a wonderful week-long reunion in Duck. Sadly it was almost ruined by an incident at the Sunset Grille on our last night. We were sitting at the bar upstairs and my cousin bought a drink and dinner and had her change sitting in front of her. The bartender took her change (which was obviously a lot more than a tip) and told her that if the money sits there for more than 10 minutes it is theirs. Appalling. When my family alerted the manager he agreed with the bartender and did nothing to help. My cousin was very upset and so all 35 of us got up and left. What were the manager's parting words? &^%@# New Yorkers. He used a word not fit for a message board. Never have I witnessed such unprofessional behavior. Please hold on to your money if you do go there--and don't expect anything from the manager. more

Grilled/ blackened local mahi sandwich was superb. Sat on the soundside deck on a gorgeous day. Great menu items esp. for lunch at a half way resonabl price even for Duck. Pros: Good menu, Nice ambiance more
