I've frequented Sunrise for the better part of 9 years, partly because another local cycle shop ripped me off before and i held a grudge. Now I 've bought a new bike and I was ready to make some mods so I called Sunrise service to check pricing. I ensure I give a detailed description of all the parts to be installed and all work to be done. I was quoted $280. I go into the shop to drop off my bike and my quote goes to $300-$350... the price was still acceptable to me, so I dropped it off. Three days later I get a call to pick it up and and I'm told that I would be $480! WTF! How did I just go from $280 to $480? No one called me to tell me that the price was changing. Well the Service dept explanation was that their mechanic was unfamiliar with the components. Unfamiliar with the components! The directions were included in the box! Besides what is he getting paid $70/ hr for? I thought he was a motorcycle mechanic. I know as an auto mechanic I don't get paid extra because I'm unfamiliar. Perhaps they are trying to pay for their renovations, I just don't like trying to pay for it solo. I guess I'm going to have to put old grudges aside and go somewhere else.
Pros: Parts installed/ Job done
Cons: inaccurate price quoting
