I took my elderly mother to her bank, SSFCU 1/7/09 on Manatee Ave. and was shocked at the way the service center manager treated her! She had purchased a money order for a grandson prior to her being hospitalized believing, as she was told by the teller, that it was the safest way to send money. No mention was made that it was NOT a credit union money order but instead a product they sell for a third party! When my mother found that out from the associate, she asked for the manager who dumped it on her to try and recover or replace the check, as well as telling her to pay a $15 fee to do that, she was understandably upset. The manager told her basically that he would not help her and actually made fun of her, giggled when she told him of her poor health. Apparently he must be on something or a maniac! We will find another bank to place all of our family's accounts in. Chip, if your listening, you need to apologize and grow up. This guy has to be somebody's relative to allow him to even speak to another human being. DISGRACEFULL!! I do NOT recommend this bank until they get rid of this shameless young “man”. We have been customers for over 10 years and I am a senior citizen also.
