LOVE Sun Bear! 6/24/2010

I have been with Sheila for over 16 years and followed her from her first salon to Sun Bear. I have stuck with her for many reasons. The very first reason was that she was the first and only stylist that I EVER be honest with. I remember each time I would come back for a cut the first thing she would say would be ""Okay, what did you not like about the cut"". This was awesome and more stylists should use this. It makes for a great line of honest communication. \r \r Secondly, Sheila is always there for me. If I need to get in sooner than later she will work with me. I love value this because with my hair, one day it can be fine and the next a total disaster in need of a cut. \r \r Thirdly, Sheila is a great stylist and colorist. Back in her day she won may awards for her color knowledge and abilities. \r \r Sunbear as a whole is great. Emily and Debbie are always super fun and are always so good to me! \r \r I would totally recommend Sun Bear to anyone \r Pros: Location, Parking, Atmosphere, Exclusive Products, Stylists Cons: Bring in products and then stop carrying them. more

Best facial & skincare products in town 10/9/2009

Anne Vaughn has been doing my facials for months now and my skin has dramatically improved. Anne is a trusted advisor suggesting various skin products until you find the right combination for your skin. She does not push products on you and she works within your budget. In fact, she even provides samples so you are not spending wasted money on products that produce no results.\r \r With my busy work schedule, skincare has not been a high priority for me, but the experience I've had at Sunbear has prompted me to take time for my skin & in fact, it's the one thing I look forward to during the week.\r \r I highly recommend you make an appt. with Anne, her schedule also works with mine, which I've always found a challenge with other sps & salons. Great Hair 3/6/2009

I've been to Sun Bear Salon many times over the last three years and wouldn't go anywhere else. I'm always impressed with the stylists and they guide me to great hair. My favorite is Renee Greene. She has made it so easy to have great looking hair with her cuts and coloring. She listens to my styling issues and helps me get the style I want every time. I have high maintenance gray hair and Renee helps me keep a youthful look with coloring and foils. It all looks so natural and I receive many compliments from friends and family. I feel there pricing is a good value and I always use their Kerastase products. The product line helps get wonderful shine and body to colored hair. This product is amazing and I wouldn't style without it. I have also used their spa and have found that a perfect way to pamper myself-we all deserve it! more

Great spot in White Bear Lake! 5/21/2008

I made my first visit to the Sunbear last week. I met with new stylist, Sara Von, and she has found a fan! \r \r The Sunbear is gorgeous and very upscale, without the snobbery of an upscale salon! I felt at home and welcomed in this beautiful setting!\r \r Sara took the time to consult with me about what was and wasn't working with my hair. She listens, but is very realistic about what to expect! I left feeling like a million bucks, without having to pay a million bucks! I can't wait to go back for another cut and a color! Go early to check out the darling gift shops in the area!\r \r A real gem! Pros: Easy parking! Great hours! more

****Most talented group of stylists in MINNESOTA**** Absolute best products**** 5/1/2008

I searched and long and hard (we're talking years and years) to find a stylist that amazed me... I have found several at SunBear Salon/Medspa. It's a hidden gem in the suburbs.... no need to get stuck waiting to get into a ""trendy"" Minneapolis salons like I did for years, they honestly don't even compare to the quality and awesome experiences I have had since moving to Sunbear. The first time I went there I was skeptical and unsure of what to expect... and I was BLOWN AWAY.... I fell in love =)\r \r Some of the qualities that I LOVE MOST about this place...\r -Fun yet relaxing atmosphere...super friendly and helpful front desk\r -Modern yet beautiful hair results!!! (color and cuts... we're talking Hollywood style, at GREAT prices... I would have thought would have cost a fortune...only about $125 for full foil and cut... A STEAL)\r -Hands down the best selection of product out there.. Kerastase and Shu... rock my world! Not only are the stylists super helpful and knowledgeable about products, but they actually EXPLAIN what they do :)\r \r Basically, if you are tired of spending hundreds of dollars and waiting months to get in, you MUST call this place, they have so many talented stylists and have availability day night and Saturdays, awesome, I know! (They have a website too). I have seen three different stylists, and each one has been incredible. This place is truly a hidden treasure in quaint little White Bear Lake. You might be thinking.. the suburbs?? ...really??? But my answer is YES!!! I have left there extremely pleased and excited every time.\r \r Word to the wise: Get your spa services done there too. Best Salon I've been to 4/30/2008

I love this salon - the decor is classy but warm, not sterile like some. I've tried a number of stylists and had great haircuts from all of them. My last haircut was with Jessie and may just be the best one I've ever had - I'll be back to see her today. My biggest problem is deciding who to choose for a massage - they are all exceptional!\r \r From initial greeting to the walk out the door I always feel like their goal is to make me feel cared for. Well done ladies! Pros: ambience, service Cons: ocassional parking challenges if you are adverse to walking more than a block more

Great Stylist! 4/30/2008

I was looking for a new stylist and was booked with Renee Green, she was great! She listened to me about what colors I wanted in my foil and didn't skimp on the consultation. My foil was beautiful-I am never going to anyone else now that I have found her! I also like that Sunbear offers a full menu of services, so its a great one-stop-shop! Totally worth it! 4/29/2008

I got a flier in the mail the other day advertising a new hair stylist in town, Sara Von, so I tried her out. I Love It! Shes running a 20% off your first service special, AWESOME! She came to Sun Bear from a Salon in Uptown Minneapolis. I could tell she was up on the latest trends, and knew what she was doing. Try her out, you won't regret it! more

GO SEE TRACI AT SUN BEAR FOR A GREAT CUT! 3/1/2008

I saw Traci there for a cut and foil and loved it. She was attentive and professional, and when she wasn't satisfied with something she worked at it til she was. She is reasonable and well worth it. I travel a long way to see her and will continue to do so! more

I have been going to SunBear Salon for over 8 years and can't say enough good things about it. Wonderful people and a great atmosphere. Highly Reccomended!! Pros: Service, Listening Skills, Promptness Cons: Different prices, Parking more
