SUMMIT AT SNOQUALMIE 12/31/2010

BEING CLOSED TO CITY, GIVE THEM THE OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE BAD SERVICE AND GREEDY. NOT ENOUGH DETAIL FOR SKI CLASS ONLINE, SUCH AS WHAT ARE INCLUDED IN RENTAL ( CHARGING EXTRA FOR HELMET AND ETC.) DON'T PICK UP THE PHONE TO ANSWER QUESTION? WELL, BE PREPARED TO PAY MORE, NOT FUN MORE! more

The Summit at Snoqualmie (Skiing and Snowboarding) 3/2/2006

While arguably the worst of the local ski resorts Snoqualmie does have a decent amount to offer the casual skier or boarder. The conditions aren’t often great but there are a lot of beginner slopes and the rates are much cheaper than other local resorts. If you are looking for runs that are more comparable to the more pricy resorts Alpental is only a couple miles away and accessible with the same pass used for the rest of Snoqualmie and the snow tends to be better quality. more

Snow tubing? Count me in 2/15/2006

First off, any activity called tubing ("tubin' " is also an accepted pronunciation) guarantees a certain level of fun. That said, I don't know how the Tubing Center at Snoqualmie could get much better than it is. Located just off Summit Central, the Tubing Center offers a groomed, easy and unique winter diversion. Come dressed for snow, buy your pass (tube usage included) and you're set. The park is open on the weekends during the day and on some evenings. (Nighttime tubing is definitely something special.) On the main hill, there are about 10 lanes ripe for tubing, each with enough variety that by the end you'll have a favorite. Even at maximum capacity, the wait at each run is short to nonexistent. Once you've made your way down, you have the option of walking back up (a nice way to keep warm--and the faster option) or you can take the tow back up. Although slow, the tow is a piece of fun unto itself. Tubing, which requires no skill whatsoever, is great for people of most any age or derring-do. You can take each run as a basic tube down the hill, or you can spice it up with powerful spins, running starts, riding head-first or taking some other approach that I can't begin to fathom. After a few hours, when you're all tubed out, you can head to the park's cafe where nachos are available for purchase. An oddly great end to a great day. http://summitatsnoqualmie.com/info/winter/tubing.asp more

Snoqualmie East is really fun 12/29/2005

If you want more structured snowshoeing or x-country skiing, go to snoqualmie east when it opens. you can take the lifts up and it has tons of areas you can go to. I think the nordic tracks are all near there as well. It's only 45 mins from Seattle, so hard to beat. Also, if you are more adventurous, I like to snowshoe behind Alpental. There is a trail, but it tends to be a great area to trailblaze, and there are usually other people around. I have carried my board on my back out there and had some amazing times. I know there are tons of places along I-90 where people just park and have a blast. You can always just look for groups of cars, and that's likely what is happening there. Good luck! more

It's for the beginner in all of us 11/22/2005

Haven't done any snowboarding but I would say try this place - especially because it's close. (Look out for falling rocks on the way there though.) Please let me know when you go. I would give anything to watch you fall in the snow. more

Great Tubing for Kids 9/19/2005

If your kids are too young to ski or snowboard, but you want to take your kids out for a little snow action, then Summit tubing is the place to take them. The Summit tubing is a small area off to the side of the ski slopes that provide safe tubing for kids. Not only will your kids love it, but parents also have fun there too. If your kids are too young, you could bring you own sled, and play on the side. more
