I have been going to the Sugar Bun for many years, ever since I was a kid and my Grandma lived in the area and we always used to stop there to bring her some goodies. They have the most delicious cookies! They come in a wide variety of shapes and the chocolate ones are so good! We always got a big box of them to take home with us in addition to the ones we brought Grandma. Their doughnuts are really good too. Sugar Bun is an excellent bakery with a good daily variety. I highly recommend their Chocolate Babka and various Ruggulah (prune, chocolate, raspberry, peach). Their prices are a little on the high side but the quality is also high. They have a large amount of pastries and cookies as well as cakes and pies. more

This local bakery with a side section for lunches is a great little find for a quick lunch. They make great sandwiches, terrific salads and decent omelettes. The bagels and breads used are delicious, and thats quite a compliment in New York! I am not really a huge fan of their baked goods, (too ordinary and everyday), but they really hit the mark at the lunch counter. Counter service, with tables for 2, 4 and one that seats up to 8 (often shared by more than one group). The counter folks gladly bring you your sandwich or meal to the table once it is freshy prepared. The staff is quick, if not overly friendly. You can have coffee or a variety of cold drinks, sodas, ice teas, snapples, etc. They sre celebrating their 40 th Anniversary. In this type of business that's a hge compliment in and of itself!
