Two of us had the wonderful experience of dining at the Suchi "Grand Buffet" Saturday (Sept 28, 2008) evening. It was the best-tasting Indian food that either of has enjoyed in the area in the 10 years that we have been here. And we have tried 8 or more of the area Indian restaurant's buffets. The food is attractively presented-- it looks great! The variety of dishes offered was impressive-- they even had fish and shrimp. I did not count the number of dishes available, but I think it could have been 20 or more, plus 3 rices, 4 desserts, papadum, and nann --plus salad and relishes. The range of spices was a pleasant surprise. At many buffets everything is very hot. But at Suchi, some dishes are mild, some are medium, and some are hot. Whatever your preference, there are several choices. There are common dishes, and there are dishes that are clearly the original creation of master chef Kiran Kumar. The traditional spinach and cheese (paneer ...) was the smoothest and most pleasant I have ever eaten. Then there were tasty vegetableballs, which look like meatballs, in sauce, that were a great blend of vegetable flavors and delicate spices. There was a mashed chicken item that looked like a red sausage. It was baked in their Tandoori oven. A real treat. There are so many interesting and tasty dishes, and we plan to go back soon. The restaurant is very clean, and the service is pleasant. It's a friendly staff that tries hard. I cannot offer any negative comments. In the few months that they have been open (new management, new chef-- and he's a great one!), they certainly have created a fine restaurant. I think it will become a magnet for those who really like quality Indian cuisine.
Pros: Great chef, many choices, great range of food/tastes, nice ambience & service
