In 1952, Earle B. Lokey first opened a dealership on Cleveland Street in downtown Clearwater. In 1959, a few folks called him crazy when he purchased property "in the middle of the orange groves" on Gulf to Bay Boulevard and opened the Lokey Motor Co. Earle
Lokey's twin sons, Paul and Philip, began working their way up through the family business in the 1970's and took over when Earle passed away in 1986. Paul managed the Lokey Oldsmobile store while Philip managed the Lokey Mercedes store.
Under Paul Lokey's leadership, Lokey Oldsmobile grew to become the Lokey Automotive Group which includes Subaru of Port Richey.
