They are real live mechanics that, not a dealership. They take time to listen and determine what is wrong before they take it in and look at it. If I need ride back, they will drop me off. They also make arrangements with the rental car company for discounts. And, they run a neat shop. They do not have a lot of trash or anything laying around and you do hear anyone cussing, yelling, or loud music. There are no distractions, they just get the work done. They provide dependable service and they perform dependable work. You get what you pay for.
I have been using Stutz Auto Service off and on for probably 8 years. I have taken an Expedition, 2 3-quarter tons, an Explorer, a Sebring, and a minivan to them. In total, they have worked on 8 or 9 different types of vehicles for me. I have taken them projects like a farm truck. I explained to them that this is a diesel truck with some problems, but it is just a farm truck, it is not for the highway or for cruising around town. So, they got it back together, and it still works great on the farm.
On another vehicle, they told me the transmission was dead, and they offered to replace it with another transmission from reliable people. And, they offered a 3 year warranty. So, they basically beat the dealers on the amount of time it takes to get your vehicle in and out of the shop, and they offer a warranty on the work they do. And, so far I have not had any problems.
Another time, I brought in my wife's minivan to be inspected. She was heavy on the brakes when she drove. Stutz told us the brake pads were thin and they went ahead and replaced the brake pads with premium pads because they could see that the pads were thinner than they should be given the amount of miles on the vehicle. They look at things like that and take it into consideration, whereas a deal would not. Stutz is a good place for a regular person to take their cars to be fixed.
