Please don't let your dentist refer you to Oakwood Endodontics. I tried my best to find out how much my procedure would cost me before having it done but I have no knowledge of how insurance companies work. I was told by my insurance company that this procedure was 100% covered but the crown was only 60% covered. As it turns out, the procedure was 100% covered up to a certain amount. Hence, my out of pocket was just shy of $500.00. Since I am not a well off person and I wasn't told how much this procedure would be, I asked Oakwood to share in this overage as Dr. Strong had said when I was in the chair, to let him know if I was going to have to make a choice between having a root canal on the tooth next to the tooth he worked on or losing that tooth, and we would ""figure something out"". On my first call, I was very hopeful that Oakwood would help with my delima and reduce the fees but upon calling Oakwood and discussing this issue several times, I was completely turned away saying that I basicly owed the full amount and they would not discount it at all or they ""would have to do it for everyone"". As a result, now I don't have the money for the crown that I need and I am already having pain in the tooth Dr. Strong worked on, so I'm sure I will end up doing what I should have done in the first place, having that tooth pulled. I can't even get a call back from Dr. Strong to discuss the fees that Oakwood says they are owed. End result, my insurance company is out $700, I am out close to $500.00 and I am going to still lose the tooth that this ""100% paid for"" procedure was to prevent me from losing. If the practice of Oakwood Endodontics was to let patients like me know what their out of pocket expense would be before performing a procedure, then we would at least have the chance to make a different decision if we need to. But of course, then Oakwood wouldn't have gotten their $1,200.00 for a worthless procedure. Never mind the fact that root canals are rather uncomfortable.\r
