  • I have been teaching all age guitar lessons in the local area for many years. As a local and patient teacher, I am able to develop talent with personal attention and patience. The internet is of course full of guitar information, most of it useful and the music and online stores full of helpful books and DVD's, but there is nothing like a one-on-one sit-down and private lesson with a friendly teacher to guide you. Learn to play folk, country, blues or rock styles and a little jazz. After you have mastered the basics, I try to focus in on the particular style of guitar music that drew the student to the guitar in the first place to keep them motivated and interested. Learn music theory as it applies to the guitar. Once you have mastered the fundamentals, if you think you will want to eventually play classical guitar, I can refer you to teachers who specialize in that genre. I charge only $15 per half-hour lesson which is very reasonable for an experienced teacher. Email me or call for questions or a time slot. I focus on guitar instruction within the local community.

Helping beginners find a suitable guitar. Learn music theory as it applies to the guitar. A note to parents of very young ( 5-10 years) potential students: I do not sell guitars but I do have on hand a good quality acoustic and electric 3/4 size guitar(s) for the smaller child to try out for fit and feasibility, to help you make a decision of whether or not to spend the money on an instrument that they will eventually outgrow. The right size fingerboard can make all the difference in a child's motivation. A full size guitar can be too much of a challenge and discouraging for even the most motivated young student- to- be. Likewise, I don't like so see anyone waste their money on a toy guitar or one made so poorly that it won't tune properly. If you feel that you need some guidance in this area, I would be glad to help.]
