Terrible service. Charged me $120 for a bridal trial run and told me to schedule and appointment for myself and my bridesmaids at the time of my trial run. Surprisingly enough, they had no appointments left the day of my wedding and would not refund my money for my expensive trial run. Also, I was a loyal customer and truly loved my hairdresser. I'm very upset about this experience. more

Yesterday, Lindsey at Strawberry Blonde cut my hair and she did a marvelous job. We chatted about what I wanted done, she listened to me, and she told me what she was doing as she did it. She was knowledgable and informative about the products she was using without making me feel pushed to purchase them. I feel really good about my haircut and it was a good value too. I will go back. Lauren was the stylist that cut and colored my hair. She was fantastic! I have never had someone cut and color my hair as well as she did. The prices at this salon are comparable and I love the Bumble and Bumble products that they use. Also they do not force you to buy products. As Lauren cut my hair she just told me the name of the product and what its purpose was. If you are looking for a great stylist, Lauren is the person for you! I am so glad I found her. more

I had my second cut from Lauren today and she continues to impress me! The first time I saw her she cut a whopping 11 inches when I donated to locks of love, into the most adorable graduated/stacked bob. 6 or so weeks later I went back and she trimmed it up just as wonderfully( or moreso) than before! Lauren also colored my hair in a single process to a lovely rich brown- which hasn't gotten brassy at all! I will go back to Lauren again and again. Bonus- she's very affordable at $40/cut. Kami is amazing with cutting hair! I could get a haircut and let it grow out for a few months and the shape and style holds up beautifully!!! I'm in love with the work she does. She really has a true passion for her art. I would recommend anyone who desperately needs an amazing cut (that will keep heads turning for months) to go to see Kami. She will hook it up! Not too long ago, I made my first appointment at Strawberry Blonde, and scheduled cut and color with Barbara Brant-Williams. I found her to be a very warm and friendly professional. She listened to my ideas and offered great suggestions. The color was the best I have had, and the cut was very current and just right for my style and hair type. I would certainly recommend Barbara to anyone who is looking for great service! The only drawback to the salon was that the lighting could be softer and a bit more flattering. I've used Barbara as a stylist for several years now. Initially our relationship began at Stuart Lawrence Salon where Barbara worked for many years. My color,highlights and haircut have always been superior which is the reason I drive two hours for her to style my hair. When Barbara moved to Strawberry Blond of course I was apprehensive to change salons. Although the atmosphere is different at SB the quality of hair cut and color remains superior. The atmosphere at SB is very laid back and relaxing. I don't have to tell Barbara what to do with my hair. I trust her completely to give me a cut that suits my lifestyle and facial features. I always leave with a style that I am able to do at home with minimal time and effort put into it. Barbara has always been welcoming and friendly. Her head massage when washing your hair is such a treat. I would recommend Barbara without reservation to a friend or stranger. She is an excellent and professional hair stylist. My first appointment to Strawberry Blonde Salon was a very welcoming and warm reception. I was greeted right away and was checked in for my appointment. I was offered a friendly hello from one of the staff and offered something to drink. I felt very comfortable. The whole staff was very friendly. \r \r And what can I say about my stylist? My girlfriend had been to this salon a couple of times in the past but it seems like people only work there for a couple of months then leave. We had cut back on expenses and she had stopped her salon visits. I came up with a little extra money and told her to go in to get her hair done. She worked with an older lady named Barbara and returned home in tears. She said Barbara was physically a very rough stylist and argued with her about what she wanted. She ended up with reddish highlights which is not what she asked for. She didn't want to step foot back in that place to have it fixed and I don't blame her. This salon lacks management and the stylists seem free to behave however they please. Don't make the same mistake I did, save your hard earned pennies for a real salon. I had Kami give me a cut and highlights. She was very nice, professional and in tune with what I wanted done. I had no picture, she made suggestions without being intrusive or rude about it. She worked with me to achieve a great look. My husband just kept saying how beautiful my hair was....\r highly recommend... Jessica was my stylist and she was awesome! She really listened to what I wanted, had lots of great suggestions, and was fun to talk to. My color and cut both turned out great! I have been going to Amanda/Zac for a few years now. I have recommended this salon many people (including my sister -- who goes to Ashley). This salon has a great atmosphere (not stuffy)! I love the way they cut and style hair. (Contemporary and fun -- they're willing to do all different styles from long flowy or short cunky hair styles) \r \r I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I am sorry your were unhappy with your service. Our salon is very professional and organized. We are sanitary, clean, and have great technical education. Maybe you are looking for more of an ""premier salon"". we are more urban..sorry we couldn't make you happy. Let me start off with a couple of notes. I'm not a clean freak, in fact I'm messy but this joint was disgusting. Cords everywhere, stylists didn't look put together, did not properly clean their implements (although there were jars of disinfectant on each station they were not using them correctly.) \r \r I was happy to find a place that sounded good, used Bumble and was not downtown. The male owner was a pervert with a filthy mouth & totally unprofessional. \r \r Naomi was sweet, but after the amount of experience she has, she should be able to handle the basics of color better than she did. It's no wonder they were booking free services with her. I got some highlights done and they were yellow, like urine yellow. Instead of Naomi going over them the right way with either a lightener or bleach, she just threw some purple shampoo on it hoping I would at least leave the salon looking somewhat decent. She didn't have a lock on color theory and just didn't seem like she knew much about how to do blondes. I'm sure if you're a brunette, which is much easier you'd be good to go. So, when I told her the color wasn't right, she continued to blowout the hair and THEN go back over it with toner that did not work because it just wasn't light enough for toner to really have any affect. \r \r I came in a week later and left with it just looking half way decent. When I washed my hair a few days later, the PURPLE SHAMPOO WASHED OUT. This is very easy to figure out, you have to lighten to the right level and then tone. Not just throw something on for a temporary fix .And, you do not put combs in disinfectant before washing them and you DEFINITELY DO NOT PULL THE COMBS OUT OF THE DISINFECTANT and COMB THE HAIR WITH THEM STILL WET. \r \r It was just gross, and I would never ever recommend anyone even step foot in there, let alone get a chemical service there, god only knows what you will leave with. I discovered this salon in Avondale when I went to Al Di La restaurant next door. I gave it a try to avoid having to travel downtown to get my hair done. Boy was it worth it. Ashley did my blonde highlights/lowlights and cut my long hair off into a FABULOUS angled bob. She explained how to manage the new cut and sold me products that I could not live without. She kept me entertained and it felt like we were sisters. She's awesome! They are the only salon that carries Bumble and Bumble that I can find around town. I told her to do something really different and she hooked it up! I am keeping the cut and will go back to her for the rest of my life! Also, the salon sells some awesome jewelry and the other employees were very cool. I love the salon set-up and am glad I stumbled across Charleston's best kept salon secret. I went to this salon not knowing what to expect because it is not downtown! I was so impressed. It is so chill in there, all the stylist get along, everyone is friendly and they have BUMBLE and BUMBLE. My stylist, Ashley not only gave me the best style and highlights I have ever gotten before, she listened to me, she educated me, and she sold me products and taught me how to use them. My hair looks like she did it all the time BECAUSE I now know how! AMAZING.... The team work is awesome and all the other stylist talked to me and showed interest. Money very well spent and Ashley's cut was worth a million dollars, but I only paid $45 dollars. I will never go to another stylist again! I'm ADDICTED. Everyone should go see her. I am a FORMER customer of this salon. I say former, because I will never come back. Ashley cut my hair the last time I was in. The haircut was good (not excellent, but good) but she talked constantly, she was very unprofessional. I spend my entire visit listening to her talk to the stylist next to her.
