The Strand Capital building is beautifully restored and it was worth the wait. The grandeur of the interior is spectacular with reds abounding! The shows are always exciting and the talent endless. The volunteers and staff are friendly and helpful. Prices are moderate and parking is available off street, and in several nearby parking lots and parking garages. more

Real Entertainment 8/19/2005

The Strand brings big city entertainment to the small town. This facility is a real piece of art in and of itself. Some of my best memories will always from the time and entertainment I have enjoyed here. The restoration put into the facility is really wonderful. However, the seating area doesn't seem top match the grand scale of the facility. It struck me as very cold and utilitarian, only functional with no artistic flavor. Also, the scrolling billboard out front detracts from the building charm. more

Strand Capitol Performing Arts Center is just exquisite, the decor grand and plush! Events are always thrilling and the staff knowledgeable and friendly. The variety and quality of shows coming to Strand Capitol is truly amazing. The dedication to top notch dynamic performances is truly appreciated by all who are fortunate to attend. Riverdance was enthralling and Tap Dogs is sure to be a spectacular performance! more

The Strand Capitol is a wonderful gem of York County History! Located in the heart of York City, the Strand offers big city entertainment throughout the year - Broadway shows, popular entertainers, and speakers! The Strand Capitol recently went through a major renovation to restore it to it's original grandeur. A truly gorgeous setting for a special outing - for couples, families or singles! The holiday shows are a must do! more

Strand Capital Performing Arts Center 8/9/2005

I love The Strand. My husband and I attend several events every year and quite honestly would like to go more often. It is beautiful. It was lovely before but when they did the renovation it is now stunning! I love the beauty I love that our hometown has this jewel right in the middle of the city. It is great to see the wonderful acts and truly get immersed in the event. more

Offers a Wide Range of Show Selection 8/6/2005

We have been to the Stand to see Jeff Foxworthy and George Carlin. Both shows were wonderful. The ticket prices were very reasonable and parking to the Strand was ample and not excessively expensive. The Strand is on the smaller side so there is not a bad seat. The only negative is that it is not located in the best area of York but the street lighting and all the other people attending make you feel much safer. more

Culture Events 7/27/2005

The Strand Capitol features live entertainment as well as a film series. You can find Broadway shows as well as well known performers such as Bill Cosby and George Winston at the Strand. It's York's only cultural center. The building is in down town York which is the only draw back. Parking is limited, one of the parking garages is your best bet. If you are going to try and dine down town before the show, get there early and make reservations. The downtown area gets busy the night of a performance. http://www.strandcapitol.org/ more

Great night out 7/14/2005

I have been to the stand many times and have always been impressed with their shows. They put on good high quality productions and have many touring acts perform there. The staff are kind and helpful and the tickets are not to expensive. The seating is very good and you can easily see the stage. Would highly recommend the Strand Capitol Performing Arts Center. more
