This is another free attraction that rapid city has to offer. They have a lot of different play sets for your children to play on. Also they have a play that they do at different times of the day. If you go I would suggest bring something to drink with you since there is not many place in the park to get a drink. more

Free Family Fun 9/8/2005

This place provides free family fun from Memorial day to Labor day. They do accept donations. The "island" is filled with characters from all sorts of children stories. Kids can run and play and touch these characters. They also have a play and train ride. There is a special playground for children under 5. It's near a nice park which is great for a picnic. more

Great for kids and free 8/10/2005

Storybook Island is a wonderful place to take your kids for the day. You will find all of their old favorites such as Barney, a bunch of the Disney characters, The Wizard of Oz, Santa, etc. There is also great playgrounds. If you go in the summer, they offer a free play on certain days. We just went, and it is very entertaining for the kids, and a nice break from running around. Be sure to check it out. more
