Stoney Point Ranch: My Home, For Life 3/10/2012

This is probably the best ranch in all of Chatsworth. The trainer there is amazing. I board my horse here at Stoney Point and he is perfectly happy. So what if this isn't the fanciest place in all of Los Angeles. Great for the kids and it's a lot of fun. Although I have seen some of the girls pick on this one girl. 2 of them got kicked out over the summer. One of them got kicked out recently. They only pick on this girl because they are jealous. She rides great, she is tall and very pretty. But come here and you will never regret it!(: more

THE TRUTH! 11/9/2011

I used to love Stoney piont with all of my heart! It used to be the best. Until, I found out that the trainer plays favortism. She basically believes everything her friends daughter says and doesnt even look for the truth or listen to what the majority of the kids say.. Unfortunately, many others have left for the same reason as well. Does not matter how many people feel the same way or even what the truth is. ONE day maybe someone will actually open their eyes and see that maybe the majority is right in this. DRAMA should be the name of this ranch like others have mentioned on here and wow it goes back 2 years ago so obviously those running this ranch cannot control the drama and ignore it and customers leave. Oh and Yes the dogs do run after and bite your horses tale when riding and also heard others say the dogs are very unpredictable and should not be aloud to roam around at 5 pm everyday. Maybe they should be let out after everyone has left just incase. I also heard another boarder say one of these dogs snapped at her for no reason but this person never said anything. The reality is that German Shephards are very unpredictable! For those that have stated they are locked up try going after 5pm maybe thats why you dont see anything. Dogs should not be aloud to roam around anyway on a boarding ranch unless the ranch is closed for the night. My brother got bit by a dog in the face at another ranch that belonged to the owner so why even take the chance. Take your dog on a walk with a leash if they need play time like most of the world does! more

beginners, advanced or show horses 10/31/2011

I boarded my A circuit jumper @ Stoney Point Ranch for almost 4 years with no problems. I left simply because it was time for him to retire (I couldn't ride him much anymore). For all the immature, drama queens (& kings) whom think I left otherwise... you need to GROW UP & GET A LIFE! The stupid, childish, dog talk is yesterday's lies that are gone with the wind. The owner's dogs bark when a stranger walks on to the property, that's it ( & what dog doesn't?). I NEVER HAD TO WORRY about items left out being stolen. I referred to the owner as my ""Google"" girl because her knowleadge re: horse health tips & patience to answer my questions. I had considered her a friend. Her daughter has Olympic talent; skilled in mulitple disciplines. It was exciting watching her ride. **NOTE: I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO GAIN to convince the world I did not leave other than the simple fact I don't have a horse to ride. POINT BLANK!! *** more

MY HOME FOREVER!!!!!! 9/28/2011

I love stoney point ranch. for the idiots who dont. YOUR LOSS!!!! the intructor is really good when i first started there i already new how to ride but western she tought me to ride english and by the end of 3 months i jumped so high i couldnt believe it. AND THE DOGS DONT DO ANYTHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there is NO MOLD in the food and the horses are NOT UNDERFED and NOT OVERWORKED!!!!! i know because i help feed them!!!!!!!!! the ownerof the horse has to take of the ""peeholes"" but anyway there arent any!!!! if you fall off during a lesson the instructor comes right over to you and makes sure you are ok i know cuz i fell of !!!!!! pros: good instructor, good horses, and EVERYTHING cons: NONE more

If you love your horse, don't board here 7/25/2011

Poor conditions. Bad teaching by someone who claims to be an expert . She is poorly thought of in the horse community. and looked upon as a sad joke. One of her former instructors left when he horses were attacked by the dogs, which was verified by the vet who came to stitch them up. Horses, especially lesson horses, are under fed and overworked. Boarders have left in droves over the past couple of years. Pros: None Cons: fly-infested, underfed horses, poor training, poor sanitation for the stalls, etc. more

MY HOME 5/23/2011

I started riding here a few years ago.I remember i couldnt even trot. now i jump show and have so much fun on my horse. more

Stoney Point - a very good and patient teacher 8/24/2010

My daughter, 7, has been riding there for over a year. Jodi is a very patient and loving teacher and my daughter has gained great confidence with her riding. The horses are gentle and we very much like the lessons there. They are reasonably priced, and the camps are very good as well. I highly recommend the Ranch. As to the dogs, I've never seen a problem with them but they're fenced in now so I don't see them at all anymore. The dogs were always fine around us and I didn't really worry about them one way or another. I think it's a good place to take lessons and we're happy here. more

GREAT RANCH!!! 8/15/2010

We have been going to Stoney Point for lessons for my kids for 7 months. We really like it!!! The horses are gentle and provide the right amount of challenge for my kids. The lady that teaches the lessons really cares that the kids are progressing and she shares her true love of horses with them. Both of my kids attended the summer camp and they loved it. more

I LOVE STONEY POINT 8/1/2010

Now its my turn to let loose on those idiots who are spreading lies about Stoney Point. First of all animal reg was there and looked at a horse that was just attacked and they said ""IT WAS DONE BY A HUMAN""!!! and we know who you are and they are looking for ya. Another thing if the dogs were biting why wasn't animal reg called about it??,,,,cuz it DID NOT HAPPEN you moron. This is to the crazy ""round blonde lady "" that keeps on going to animal reg ranting and raving....THEY ARE LAUGHING AT YOU!!!.(.quote unquote). I have seen what the horses are fed at each feeding and its good quality feed . No mold whatsoever,,,,horses do not eat mold....you idiot. As for the owner not caring when a child falls off a horse I have witnessed the incidents and she immediately goes over to the child and makes sure he or she is ok. Her lessons are excellent and I have watched a beginner that could hardly reach to get the horse to walk to in a few months cantering and jumping. Parents are asking why the dogs are not out during the day when lessons are given. The dogs would lay right next to the owner the entire lesson and NOT MOVE.They never bothered the horses when the child was getting them ready for lessons. Now this is for the unhappy boarder...LEAVE WE WON't MISS YA...TAKE YOUR NAG AND PLEASE LET THE GATE HIT YOU ON THE WAY OUT!! Pros: excellent place to board and take lessons Cons: NONE WHATSO EVER!!!!! more

Now Let The Truth Be Told 7/30/2010

I am not big on writing reviews but after reading the vicious, slanderous, and all out lies written by a several disgruntled ex-boarders I am compelled to set the record straight. I would not want someone who is looking for a place to board their horse, takes lessons, etc to read their lies and think that's what really is going on at Stoney Point Ranch. In regards to the stalls, the stalls are cleaned every single day. The shavings in the box stalls and in & outs are dug out and replaced every week and cleaned every single day. Any urine holes are the responsibility of the horse owner to maintain, not the stall cleaner. The horse owner needs to make sure the stall drains correctly so urine holes are not made! The horses are fed twice a day and to say the horses are not fed enough is absolutely crazy. I know, because I have helped feed them!! The horses get the right amount for their size and condition and to say they don't is an all out lie. All the horses at Stoney Point Ranch are very well fed and cared for. And that includes the lesson horses, which are a vital part of the ranch. All the lesson horses are in good condition, and yes, they all can walk, trot, and canter!!! These horses have been trained to be gentle and kind, making learning how to ride easy. There has been so many vicious allegations brought against the dogs at Stoney Point Ranch that it just makes me sick!! The dogs did not cut the horses ears, nor have they bitten any horses there. We have had an investigation done on the cuts on the horses ears and have found out that these cuts were not made by the dogs, or a bird, but by a human with a razor. And these attacks have stopped since 1 disgruntled boarder has left!! The dogs are protecting the ranch...that includes the horses, the tack sheds, everything!! Animal Reg is NOT there daily and to say the owner is watched like a baby is just plain ridiculous!! Stoney Point Ranch is a wonderful place to board your horse or take lessons. I have learned so much being there, taking lessons and riding my horses. The people that board there are happy to be there, have called it their home away from home and are there because they love it there!!! The owner is very knowledgeable and kind. When she teaches lessons she is very attentive and patient, always finding good in your riding even if you don't. Everything I have learned is because of her!!! So if you are reading these reviews, looking for a place to board your horse or to take lessons I hope you will disregard the reviews by the following people: Life In The Fast Lane, Alarmed, Inlovewithjason, concernedaboutanimals, and bunnybuddy. These people are disgruntled ex boarders who left Stoney Point Ranch and now have nothing else to do but spread vicious, slanderous lies about it. Stoney Point Ranch is not closing, but is thriving, getting bigger by the day. And the boarders here are going to make sure that Stoney Point Ranch stays open...because it's a horsey place to be!!! Pros: Excellent ranch, horses well cared for, great lessons Cons: nothing, nothing and nothing!!!!! more

problems of the ranch 7/9/2010

the experience i have had here has amazing till the dogs came. i wish i could go back in time and change it ; make it so the dogs never came. Almost 30 horse/boarders have left because of this and the stable hand leaves pee holes. The box stalls and in and outs get shavings like once a year. one of the dogs jumps and grabs your horses tail and yanks on it. more

Love the place!! 7/9/2010

Been there many years and will be happy to bring in more horses if I could! My horses love the place, she feeds really well. Will even turn out at no charge if you have to leave out of town. The quality of hay is great. Her lessons are fabulous and inexpensive. Pros: Nice family enviornment, caring owner. Cons: Absolutely none! more

Horesy life 7/6/2010

This ranch was an awesome family Ranch for so many years but a lot of boarders left because of the 3 new dogs. I personally loved this ranch so i hope it gets back on track in the future with lots of new boarders. This place does not deserve to shut down. Cons: I miss the family atmosphere more

the worst ranch ever 6/28/2010

i have been at stoney point ranch forever. i use to take lessons with the owner. she taught me alot. as soon as she got her new german sheperds every thing went down from there. the lessons she dosnt teach well anymore. there is this kid who is probly 8 and she came off the horse and the owner just sat there and wached. its not a kid safe place there.the dogs are very mean around dinner time when she would feed the dogs would go after the horses ears. over the past 2 months there have been over 30 attacks. the laidy has lost it she thinks its a bird. the food suckes too she feeds 1/4 of the food that horses should get even if its mold she dosent care she feeds it. the lesson horse there are half dead cant even walk there so weak and have no energy.the place is a mess flys every were animla reg is in there every day keeping and eye on her like a litle baby. she has to lock them up becse the dogs will come after u i have actualy got bitten before. Also when u try to ride the dogs attack the horse making u fall off and u get yelled at because the dogs came at u she dosent care any more shes all about saving every PENNY she can so she can spend it on her self . shes very selfish her animals are all sucked up. i rescued a horse that was 1000 pound under wait i couldnt put any wait there we feed him a 50 pound bag of pellets every day he didnt gain any thing untill we move. the stall cleaner suckes my horse got urine burns all on him from the pee holes there that the stall clearn dosnt clean out. then there is the fires every year there are fires there. she would but the cows in the arena and turn the sprinklers on woulndt even try to get them out luckly i havent lost any of my own horses. so any one who dares to enter beware of the taridactol the BIRD it might come down and pick u up and bring u back to its nest where all of the horse ears are. Pros: absoltly nothing Cons: every thing u can think of more

A horsey place to be 6/26/2010

Okay. I have been boarding at Stoney point Ranch ( a Horsey Place to be.) for eight years. There has never been one problem with the owner and her facilities. Stoney point is one of the best riding places around and whoever disagrees has either gotten their facts wrong or have more personal issues with the owner that need to be worked out by not involving her riding facilities . Stoney point is my home and has always been a fun calm and relaxing place to ride my horse. No vicious "" dogs biting horses "" or "" dogs attacking chickens"" . Every animal there is well taken care of and loved. And in my 8 years i have never once seen a horse "" moved by a shovel "" and how that is relevant i do not know . So whomever has a problem with Stoney point needs to realize there isnt anything wrong with the ranch and infact maybe there is something wrong with them .. I LOVE STONEY POINT RANCH !!! <3 Pros: Fun Family environment :) more

Disappointed and Disgusted 6/21/2010

I visited this facility recently, and not only was I disappointed, but totally disgusted. I personally witnessed several dogs biting horses, as well as chasing chickens, which is probably normal, but one of them caught one in front of a child, and they were horrified. I'm also certain using a shovel to move a horse is inappropriate. So if you do not care if your horses are cared for humanely, properly and professionally, then take them here. NO THANKS!! YEE-HA. more

stoney point home of the jealous owner 6/16/2010

This place is a mess. the owner is a crazy lady who puts on a front and the care taker trys anything to get her last dime. The horse dont eat as much as they should and the drama there could make a movie. so if you like drama then its a perfect home for your horse. Pros: nothing Cons: horses are poorly fed more

great for anyone and their horse 3/16/2009

This is place this amazing. I board there and it is clean. My horse loves it and i love it .We both have lots of fun. The jumps we have there are new and beautiful. The round pen just got new wood too! The western arena now has barrels and cones. its also been expended. The stalls are cleaned everyday . There are great tough and easy trails right near there. My favorite thing would be the new trail course and area. My horse and I have a blast here at stoney point and you well to as soon as you come. Stoney point rocks!!!!! Its like i died and went to heaven Pros: good horse ranch Cons: . more
